This ump tonight has a giant strike zone and Pilkington is on the mound. He has 7 Ks through 3, most of which he's earned but he just called a 3rd strike that was at least 5 inches off the plate

I went to the game tonight. 17 strikeouts..........17!!!!!! And to make matters worse, we were striking out both looking and swinging at FASTBALLS on a strike 2 count. Apparently, the Sam Houston State team is staying at our hotel. Maybe I should sweet talk Deggs into coming back.

To be fair to our hitters, Pilkington was getting called strike 3s that were literally in the batter's box.
But the strikeouts are a real concerning trend. We strike out 8.6 times per game. 32% of our at bats end in a strikeout. We have more strikeouts than hits and walks combined.

Yeah that's true. There are a lot of young guys on this team but this is way worse than what should be acceptable.

Huge win! Hopefully this gives them confidence going forward. Tech will play Cal tomorrow at 2:00 pm. Cal beat Baylor today 8 - 2. All games are streamed on YouTube and Facebook.
