I think your grip is way to strong and your thumb should rest on the side of the club rather than on it. Just some friendly advice.

I'll tell what helped me improve relatively quickly... I started when I was 22 and I worked for a guy that was a plus handicap, he played or hit balls almost everyday, so that's what I started doing. He and I only missed doing something golf related when the weather was REALLY bad. I went from beginner with no idea how to play to a 2/3 in about 2 years.
Find a partner who can really play, ditch your hacker friends for a while. And play for something every time you peg it up.
