He got beat badly if you saw the match. He was shut out 5 0 and the kid was in complete control the entire match and didn’t sweat at all looked like.

Not even close plenty states way weaker than here.

This makes so sense. I'm sure she loves it when her son is shoving other kids in a trash can but when he gets his its all of a sudden a problem.
How about you be mad at your son for losing to some California queer?

Yep, this is what I tell my 8th grade son who wrestles.

I wouldn't call those kids queer...
They were well trained and disciplined.. They wrestle on a college level. It was amazing to see a HS team that good.
They were all very humble kids as well...

You're right, but wrestling is different...
You're by yourself on that mat with no help. It's amazing what a kid learns from a loss, and how he responds the next time he wrestles the same kid he lost to previously. This is what separates a good wrestler from a great one.

This woman is wacko. I wrestled in the 80’s and was a Louisiana State Champion, also won 5 tournaments. Finished the season 28-3 and wrestled many of the same kids 2-3 times. Never recall out of State schools competing, just the occasional wrestler from a mid-western state entered.
My only chance to wrestle out of state kids was attending Summer camps at Iowa, Iowa State, and Oklahoma State. Most of the camp attendees were on a completely different talent level. I started wrestling in the 6th grade (NOLA) and the wrestlers from MW states made me look like a novice. I would have loved to compete vs. these kids which would have only made me a better wrestler

I spent yesterday at a wrestling duals event here in Texas yesterday. I had never been involved in wrestling before my kid got involved in middle school. He was already way behind the curve and I am told Texas is not a strong wrestling state. The team has a few very good wrestlers, usually families who moved from out of state or have a dad who was a college wrestler.
There’s no other sport like wrestling. The matches are 1v1 and there’s nowhere to hide. Coaches call out advice during the match but the opponent can heart it as well and it comes down to who can execute better. I’ve only seen one match where a kid lost his cool and shoved a kid after the match and the pusher was immediately kicked off the team by the coach. The coach later allowed the boy to rejoin the team but in a support role, not able to compete, and the kid agreed.
At least there weren’t any injuries in the event yesterday beyond the usual bloody noses.

It’s ridiculous that Louisiana has 3 divisions at the state tournament to begin with. Almost every state has 1 division and some have 2 divisions with multiple qualifiers. There’s no rule that stops out of state schools from competing in regular season tournaments. If you don’t like them coming here and winning then beat them.
