I think so
Quinn is much more physical than Abram was. He can make plays on DBs that are playing press. The nature of the evangel offense back then allowed booty to rarely see really physical press coverage because DBs would run out of gas trying to bump ECA WRs 50-60 times a game.
I remember Abram in HS and in college and IMHO he was more of a finesse type of receiver
Quinn can play outside, in the slot or even tight to the formation and still run crisp routes that get him open. Abram was more fluid as a route runner than Quinn and was dynamic in open field routes
I would prefer Quinn running a slant on the 3yard goal line slant over Abram. I would prefer booty on the deep skinny post
But you get my point
Quinn is much bigger than I thought, he is a solid 6'2 190 lbs and has wheels. Booty was kind of skinny in HS but damn he was good
ACADIANA vs CARENCRO next week will tell you a lot about those two teams for the playoffs

For Episcopal fans, how do you expect to finish the district?

Dutchtown will live up to their One and Done Tradition again this year.
EA was not "only down there because of a bs blow to the head call." They drove there and it was a late hit out of bounds. What I didn't understand was how it wasn't an automatic first down on the personal foul?

Quinn finished with 12-126 1td
Smith finished with 3-65
Fontenot was 25-34-316 as well. 15-71
Melvin Jones finished 11-80 1 td and 1-48 1td
Jacory Washington finished with 3-62 1td
Also just to add Barbe has one hell of a kicker saw him kick a 50 yd field goal against evangel and boots every kick off into the end zone

If that was the case, then why did the ref point to the head when he announced the penalty? And I agree. It should have been first down. And that's why I say the refs sucked. They keep the flags in their pockets all night and then they call illegal procedure after the fact when DTHS scores the TD that puts it out of reach? They moved the ball across the field twice and then reset it before measuring for an EA first down? They could have called procedure all night on EA because the entire backfield was in motion before the ball was snapped on almost every play. And DTHS recovered two fumbles CLEARLY before the pileup and the refs gave the ball back to EA both times after refusing to break up the scrum.

Really Quinn is 6'2". I heard it was closer to 6'0". I don't see a Rueben Randle type frame on Quinn. His arms don't seem like those really long rangy arms like Randle. Is he partially the product of having an unbelievable high school QB throwing to him? Quinn's production is off the charts yet he isn't ranked as the top LA receiver. Why is that? What's missing? Top end speed? He doesn't have that really big wide receiver frame looked for in big time receivers? It's gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out. I still say he plays pro baseball one day. It's easier to stand out as an athlete on that field than on a field with Calvin Johnson.

Let it go. It's high school football. These refs aren't perfect. You sound like Catholic High fans a couple of weeks ago. Do the refs blow calls? Of course they do. It usually evens out over time. The refs do their best and that's all there is to it. Glad people are willing to do the job for not much compensation.

I just don't think race is a factor. Maybe I am naive but talent is talent. These guys who evaluate high school players have to see something in the receivers ranked ahead Quinn. What are those things? Who knows?

Acadiana is really young this year. They have the weapons but they play 5 sophomores on the back 7 on defense and a couple good sophs on offense. Talented but young. They just seem to make too many mistakes ie fumbles and penalties. This year they are decent but the next couple of years will be when they have a shot. I maybe see them getting to the quarters. Not a bad year considering the youth.

Someone please post the .gif of him going up and catching the ball with one hand. Was posted on recruiting board a few weeks ago. He's a phenomenal player (and easily the WR prospect, imo).
Edit: I found it.

From the stands Quinn looked every bit of his listed size and weight
I think there is a bit of bias ranking WRs and I sure the top ranked WRs are there on ability and potential in the college game
I wouldn't say Fontenot is phenomenal but he is exceptional at what he does
Quinn is obviously extremely talented and he plays very hard all game. He knows he is going to get the most attention and he still performs at the highest level. If he plays football in college I believe he would only get better

Easton's luck finally ran out...
and again people just look at recruits too much and put West Jeff between #'s 1-5 in their preseason rankings. Marcus Scott builds a decent team that's more competitive than most would be against the Catholic schools, but it isn't his fault they're overrated.
oh next week, Rummel might be #90-something nationally, but Chalmette is #1 in St. Bernard Parish
