0 oercent chance Voitier will allow that field to be rented out to another school. You know that.
UNO’s club team played at CHS once in like 2011… I think the last time for another high school was Holy Cross getting whooped by Evangel in the playoffs… now we have let other schools use our baseball field recently

Same with some pf the private school fields. Yes they may be "available" but if they aren't allowed to be rented out, they are not useful.
Too many logistical and security issues.

(really thought at some point Rummel would try to build a stadium)
Hold on...Rummel has a field with bleachers and stadium like stands next to the baseball field.
They dont play games there?
I guess it's not nearly big enough

I guess the public systems (like they do with Yenni and Memtas) have more resources to handle this?

Gotcha......they could build a stadium around the field and turf it.....if Lusher can build a football/baseball/soccer/track turf field in that little space they have then Rummel can too

Pan Am has games
And Pan Am really shouldn’t be used for HS games

Yes and No. The field at Lusher (sorry, "Willow') has the end zones against the streets, whereas at Rummel it's against the baseball field / 41st street.
They could absolutely expand the stands where the current ones are (along Severn) by taking over the small linear parking lot there.
On the N. Arnoult side, it would be harder... there isn't much room over there at all. You could maybe fit a 8-10 row high set of bleachers over there. I don't know if that would be enough visitors side seats for their bigger Catholic League games.

Agreed. It's only used becasuse it's available and cheap.
If the new Ninth Ward stadium ever actually happens, I could see some Orleans teams who currently play at Pan Am playing there. Which of course won't help the overall stadium issue.

Why you say that? It’s perfectly fine

Its a practice field
Rummel wanted to build a stadium there but the neighborhood association freaked out and shut it down

It’s not the Pan Am from before Katrina

Ignoring that the Endzone spacing isn’t adequate for HS, that the press box can’t hold two teams, or that stands are really only good for 2A and below, the field is in complete disrepair.

Belle Chasse gave a away that game to Newman and Arch. Shame.

quote:starting with the school board handles much of the logistics not the schools themselves and unlike many on campus stadiums you don't have to traverse the campus for access to stadium. I know when a BR private let another school use their stadium it was a disaster from parking, vandalism on campus, concessions, gates not being locked after etc.

Well yes, Lusher has a track between the back of the endzones and the fence then there is a sidewalk and parking then the street.....there's plenty of room between the endzone and the street on the Nashville side, on the Joseph side a a little tight.

There is an 2 lane street and right between the endzone baseball field at Rummel...way more room than Lusher has

yeah, thats what I was thinking...but hey if NIBY say they dont want it they gonna get what they want

Slidell @ Ponchatoula will be streamed tonight on VSN, which is Jim Derry's call.

Beside expanding that field into a full-fledged stadium, they also wanted to build a four-story parking facility somewhere on campus, too. The combination of both was too much for the neighbors from blocks all around. I remember the blue and white protest signs in nearly every yard in St. Benilde parish.
