Jermon Bushrod was in the house...
as for us, i thought we could be caught looking ahead, but Tucker was aggressive on the fake field goal call early on and it was executed perfectly.
I don't know about moving one of our best defenders to RB when we have two already producing... maybe Mercadel was hurt? but now we can't keep Raymond Major out that spot even if he has to go both ways.
Easton's coach thought "grown men were cheating kids", but when he looks at the tape of two key calls that went our way, I think he'll pipe it down a little. I hope
the district doesn't go undefeated against everyone else (thanks Saders) but we're still 23-1.
next week is the "Duel Under the Oaks" at Tad Gormley
Jason Tucker was the defensive coordinator at Jesuit before coming back home to da parish, but it's now his 5th year here (time flies when we're having fun)
the last two Chalmette/Jesuit games have been what I would call "wastes of time", and apparently Jesuit is banking on this one too, as we're their homecoming opponent. Saturday, 7 p.m., on WGSO 990 AM, in a series Jesuit leads 15-6 all-time
I think we're gonna have more fans there than Tulane and Syracuse

Owl, you think the high schools book homecoming the way colleges do? Ours is this Friday at Tad Gormley, and we're getting West Jefferson. In my estimation, it's more the weekend that they can have everything and book the dance, than just the opponent. It's our (Brother Martin) district opener. With district play opening this past weekend or upcoming weekend, it's hard to change that schedule.
Again, all my opinion, only. Last thing anyone wants is to get steamrolled at homecoming, I simply think that by October, your opportunity to get a patsy for that week is unlikely.
My son's mad because we're chaperoning the dance on Saturday night.

IIRC in '07 we were Brother Martin's homecoming too...
we were Grace King's one time too
it's always the last home game for us, whether it's West Jeff, Higgins, or Miller McCoy
either way i guess the NOLA schedule saved the best for the last kickoff of the week

I think BM likes it on the first weekend of October, it was this time last year, as I recall. Same deal, I don't think it matters who the opponent is.
