McMain thrashed Lusher 56-20 in the Battle of Nashville Avenue. Mustangs focused on running the ball mostly tonight in preparation for the playoffs.
Back to back 10-3A champs!

quote:Undefeated REGULAR season amigo. I believe one of the losses was a team from Mississippi in that 66 season in some kind of weird bayou bowl game or something. Then they lost in the state title game. Not sure about the tie.. but I am going off of memory from the posters in the weight room at SL. But I graduated 11 years ago
66 was 11-2-1...

Either way Go Big Blue

Searched around some more and updated the OP with some north LA games. Happy?

man that Karr - O.P. Walker game will be amazing. Behrman Stadium will be rocking!

Why does mcmain always go for 2 point conversions? That's some madden bs if I've ever seen it. And the kicker could easily make the extra point so that's not the reason

naa, that O.P. Walker defense is nasty! Plus Walker will be out to prove something after that loss last week to Shaw

They don't have a consistent kicking game. They did try for an XP on the final two scores last night. The first one was blocked, and the second was wide left. It looked like the blocking wasn't there at all. Last year, they did kick quite a few XP's but the guy graduated.
It's the same thing with most local teams. No brothas take the time to learn how to kick

Gotcha. In all fairness I did leave at halftime though so I missed the extra points. Damn homecoming court was taking too long at halftime. Haha

yea those homecoming games drag on forever it seems like. Did you see the homecoming parade before the game?
Were you on the Lusher side? Keyan Williams is pretty damn good man and it looks like Coach Landrum has him some nice pieces around him. It's amazing where they are after only like 4* years of playing football.

Missed the homecoming parade. I'm sure that was a sight. Yeah I was on the lusher side. Both teams looked good but you could tell mcmain's players were bigger and more skilled than lushers. Mcmain had one long pass play in the first half in the corner of the field on lushers side that was legit. Perfect pass and the receiver did a great job catching it at the one as the defender was all over him

Because they convert over 50 percent of the time?

Lusher has a bright future ahead of them. Hopefully both schools can stay in the same classification and district to continue "The Battle of Nashville Avenue"
If you're counting Josh Rounds, Brandon Lebeau, Jerome Fedison, and the rest of the recent alums who were on the sidelines, then yea McMain was bigger.
It looked like Lusher had a bigger team overall. Your TE was the biggest guy on the field it seemed.
Khalil Smith was the guy who caught that pass. He is amazing. He's the one who caught that came winning 73 yard bomb on the final play against Pearl River a few weeks ago. Omari Jones has grown up a ton at QB this year. Last season, he stayed in the pocket and tried to make a play every time and that killed us in the Quarterfinals against Amite. This year, he's tucking it and running a lot more

Yeah lushers tight end is legit. He plays te and linebacker. He hardly ever comes out the game. Big boy with bleach blonde hair. Pretty funny. Nicholls state is recruiting him hard at tight end
