Bebe Ogeron

There were rumors that at the end of last year, Orgeron's people contacted us about the job. I think we're trying to stay away from notorious dirty recruiters though since we just got out of APR hell.

I'd be willing to bring my run n' shoot offense to ULL for about 130k per year with a signing bonus of $300.

As long as you bench Chris Masson and start Blaine Gauthier.

Your wishes are noble, but it looks like the Lewis Cook era is just around the corner.

We're not hiring a high school coach, especially after the Todd Dodge debacle at N. Texas. His record was worse than Baldwin's.

If you'd read instead of trying to be an elitist a-hole, you'd notice I said he's most likely holding out for a major job. It just doesn't hurt to try.

I agree...

I told a friend this morning that if the Athletic Dept. isn't working its arse off compiling a list of potential candidates this week and reaching out, they're fricking incompetent.

Exactly. Make him tell you "no" before you go out and assume.

Lewis Cook's name is always brought up when ULL is looking for a coach. Judging by history, ULL hasn't been a place that can land a successful major division 1-A coordinator. Their last two hires were position coaches. ULL might want to try finding a successful Div 1-AA head coach that is looking to move up. Would Dennis Dunn from Louisiana College (I know their not Div-1AA) work out well for ULL??

I'm really not flaming, just trying to join the debate.

I like Hudspeth. Harsin, as said, is going to hold out for a better job.

Of course, it won't be Hudspeth; it will be somebody who you've never even heard of.

I hate the "hire Lewis Cook" assholes every fricking time the Cajuns are hiring. They won't hire Lewis fricking Cook. Get over it.

Hire a good Paul Johnson-style triple option coach. A job like this needs a gimmick.

I know nothing about Dunn so I can't speculate. When Robert Lee wasn't retained, we had morons suggesting all sorts of high school coaches and we ended up with a good hire in Bob Marlin, who was supposed to be getting a "better job." I'm not under the impression that David Walker hired Marlin either, that's a Scott Farmer hire all the way and I think Farmer will be the new AD. If Lewis Cook joins the Cajuns, it would be as a positions coach not the head coach.

In the past I'd agree, but I really do love the Bob Marlin hire so I'm going to give them (Farmer) the benefit of the doubt.
