I’m no longer a LeBron fan (loved watching him at one point) but it is crazy to me that people use him making it to the finals but losing against him, but you never hear anyone say well MJ didn’t even make it to the finals 9 times or anything like that. Lebron bringing some of the teams he did to the finals is insane. Also look at his NBA finals stats, they talked about giving him the finals MVP when he was on the losing team…
He’s insufferable now, but doesn’t change the fact of how great of a player he is. It’s crazy how much of a freak of nature he is to be able to play this many years, have this many miles on his body, and never have any major injury, and still be playing.

I mean who would want King James these days? He’s a deadweight to the team physically and mentally these days. $40m would be way too much to pay annually.

Well...
Cavs
Golden State
Nuggets
Timberwolves
76ers
Knicks
Heat
Hawks
Pistons
Etc..
So like every team that actually wants to win wants the guy who is 41 yet still played at or near an All-NBA level.

Sounds like they care more about ticket/merch sales over remaining talent.

What will happen to his gate?

Would Be awesome for him to announce right now only to be completely over shadowed by the World Cup.
What legacy can a man brag on by playing way past his prime and his popularity.

I think Lebron deep down knows there is nothing he can do anywhere near as well as basketball.
There is a narrative around him that had been exhaustively promoted that he is a genius at business and he will thrive and a business tycoon post basketball - and he himself seems desperately to want to be an Ali type galvanizing activist on social issues.
But he just does not have the skills or aptitude for the former and does not have the personality and charisma for the latter. And again I think instinctively he knows it so he hangs on to the thing he does best and about as well as all but one or two other players every have, I get it.

You think the Knicks would want LeBron?
It’s funny that the moment no one wants to pay LeBron max money it’s now no longer about the money to him
