I don't know. I'm not sure I would put Jordan and Kobe's mentality in the same category. Jordan just wanted to win, whether that meant passing or shooting. Kobe has taken that to the extreme. He will take the last shot regardless of whether that means 1v1 or 1v4. I really don't remember Jordan doing that.
Exactly; Kobe tries way too hard.

The numbers bare this out too.

It's really tough to make a logical argument that Kobe actually is clutch, at all.

It's virtually impossible to make the argument that he is the best closer in the game. May as well take virtually out, because he is below the league average shooting over his career in clutch situations.

Henry Abbot has some great articles on it and how his Lakers are actually one of the worst teams in the clutch, getting outscored by their opponents.

We get it. Lebron fans hated kobe his whole career and their prayers were answered with lebron.

And everyone who hates lebron needs to acknowledge he is a beast. Best athlete in the game. But just because he is a great basketball player doesnt mean people have to like him. Ive never seen fans of a player so obsessed with non-fans' opinions.

Lebron is a douche. And probably the most athletic player in the league since young kobe/jordan. Kobe is a douche. And probably the toughest competitor since
jordan.

Both are douches and all-time great players; two things that often go hand-in-hand. Everyone just needs to loosen their buttholes about the whole thing.

Have you ever seen non-fans so obsessed with fans of a player?

Just curious...

I meant in giving off the "I'm super competitive" schtick.

Jordan is the type who would legitimately run over an old lady in his car just to say he beat you to the grocery store. Don't get me wrong, Kobe is ultra-competitive as well, but I don't think he's quite that bad. I think he tries hard in putting on that image though, just to out-do Jordan.

No one in the league today would ever out work jordan. I don't know if anybody in the world would ever out work jordan.

That is nowhere near where my argument comes from. Most don't care that people don't like Lebron or think he's a douche.

It's the "he's a pussy", "scared", "nothing", "Robin", "super unclutch", "Kobe is 10x the man LeBron is" shite that so many of these idiotic figs come up with that annoys me.

They think it's the macho and cool and ultra competitive thing to do to demand to take the last shot every game.

What gets lost in that is actually making the best basketball play for a team.

Yea lebrons probably more athletic; but kobe was an absolute freak. But yes you are the prototype lebron fan.

A guy obsessed with his hate for kobe turned prophet when lebron did turn out to be that good.

That happens with every star until he wins a championship. See: Peyton Manning. It is what it is. If they win it this year, people will shut up.

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. That sentence is terribly written and doesn't make sense.

And I don't hate Kobe nearly as much as the Lebron bashers on here seem to hate him. I've never started a thread flaming him or his performance and very rarely even post anything about him. Hell, I don't think I've ever felt that kind of vitriol towards any athlete.

You'd think people would learn their lesson at some point, though.

With LeBron, I seriously don't think it will for most. They will just jump to the he had to do it with Wade & Bosh garbage.

Actually, that sentence is not terribly written. But this is your schtick. You try to act like an intelluctual but it comes off as forced and insecure.

And you acting like you dont hate kobe with a passion is a complete farce. Ive seen numerous posts by you on kobe. Your facade of "cool, internet guy" has to be one of the biggest running jokes on td.

Jazz is boring and you are not a hipster high-schooler sporting an afro.

There is so much fail in that post.

Yes, it is. It's horribly written, like 5th grade level grammatical errors horribly written.

Go through my post history then and provide some links. I guarantee you that I have less than 10 posts criticizing Kobe in the last month. Hell, I might not have that many this entire NBA season, unlike some of the Lebron haters on here who appear in every single NBA thread spewing hatred and vitriol. You even resort to numerous personal attacks and name calling, because you clearly have some weird level of emotional investment in this entire thing. I don't really care about Kobe Bryant very much, which is why I don't post about him often.

I don't even attempt to come off like that. Most of the time I try to come off as a huge dork obsessed with fantasy RPG games. I have no idea how you've come up with this, unless you're parroting the guy who started that inane "This is why I hate Lebron thread" last week.

quote:

Jazz is boring and you are not a laid back high-schooler sporting an afro

Yes, I am trying to pass myself off as a fan of jazz or a "laid back high-schooler with an afro".

Yes i wrote it that way on purpose. I wrote it that way to echo my prophet thesis.

And yes, you do come off that way. You really do.
