quote:right. As in, a finals where he scored basically as efficiently as kobe did, he gets lauded and kobe gets critized. Why can't both players benefit from a double standard?
You mean when LeBron had an EFG% of 0.431.
Kobe's AVERAGE across 7 finals is 0.432
quote:when did I ever argue that?
LeBron has played considerably better than Kobe in the finals.
quote:ok?
In their 3 peat, Shaq probably played better than MJ's best finals for THREE straight years.
quote:there are a bunch of greater reasons why the ring argument is stupid
In fact, Kobe probably provides a great example why the ring argument is only even partially applicable to MJ.

The Lebron Kobe argument been over. It's not even close. Both all time greats. But LBJ is top 5.

WCA, there are still a couple of posters out there who still try to fight that particular fight.

quote:Double standard? LeBron shot at Kobe's AVERAGE, in a series primarily without the second and third best player.
right. As in, a finals where he scored basically as efficiently as kobe did, he gets lauded and kobe gets critized. Why can't both players benefit from a double standard?
AND lauded? People give him credit for keeping it closer than it SHOULD have been, but it's still counted in the losses that people use against LeBron.
quote:You didn't, but the second reply started this Kobe vs. LeBron conversation. This is a continuation of it.
when did I argue that?
quote:Just a continuation of the original argument.
ok?
quote:Agreed. BUT it's still used to prop up some players and criticize others. Not everybody understands basketball like you.
there are a bunch of reasons why the ring argument is stupid
Regardless, my posts were in response to the second reply.

Top 5 what? SF?
Yea, I would argue that.

Here you are with your baseless posts as usual.

quote:no its not. I just merely pointed out that kobe still made an impact in game 7 of 2010 by grabbing rebounds. That was my initial post. Nothing more, and nothing less. I never wanted this to turn into a stupid kobe/lebron conversation because there is no conversation
You didn't, but the second reply started this Kobe vs. LeBron conversation. This is a continuation of it.

no its not. I just merely pointed out that kobe still made an impact in game 7 of 2010 by grabbing rebounds.
Yes his 15 rebounds were great, but that doesn't negate that his relatively poor performance gets ignored while Lebron's superior game 6 and game 7 performances against the Spurs is always prefaced with "if Ray Allen didn't hit that shot." That's the double-standard.
quote:Well then blame the person who started it.
I never wanted to turn this into a stupid Kobe/LeBron conversation

quote:not at all. I never linked kobes game with lebrons game. Not a single part of my initial post dealt with lebron. It was all about making a passing comment about kobes game 7
This isn't a continuation of the post the led to the conversation in the first place?
quote:and for the billionth time, I never said any of that. Jesus. All I said was that lebron got a pass last year for scoring inefficiently that kobe never has gotten. That is the only comparison I made and it's because you brought their finals up. Not me

If you choose to respond to a conversation, THEN it is a continuation of the conversation you responded to in the first place. Are you unable to follow this very simple chain of posts?

You are able to have two different conversations surrounding the same subject. I was commenting on something very specific about kobe. You were taking a very broad conversation about kobe vs lebron. They are about similar subjects but are absolutely different
I made one passing comment about a single part of what you were saying that played no role in the other conversation you were having. I was not a part of thar conversation or trying to continue it. I was technically starting a new one

I was arguing about the poster who said Kobe was better and there is a double-standard when he has a poor performance.
You said LeBron benefits from the same double-standard, which harkens back to the original post so I argued the double-standard again in that people rate Kobe high, even though his performances we're especially great.
It seems to be all related to me, but now I think we may be having parallel arguments about things that topics where we are disagreeing.

Damn man. You knighting for Lebron hard as frick. He's still not going to let you hit.

quote:I said he has benefited from a double standard before. And for the billionth time, I only did so because you were bringing it up to me. My original post had nothing to do with that

Zero posts from the bitches on here after Game 3.
GS wins game 4 and now everyone comes out of hiding to call Cavs backers "bandwaggon" fans.
You children crack me up
Lebron is an amazing player and the best of our generation who's made it to the finals 7 times (6 of those consecutively). Appreciate greatness.

What he's saying is true (and this is coming from someone who roots for the Hawks so I'm not exactly a fan).
