Its about quickness karma. Jordans fade away jumper would spell doom for bron.

So basically what you guys are trying to say is that since I wasn't even old enough to watch jordan i can't judge between who is better?Hmmmm interesting!! Ok they make this thing i think they call video tape's not sure. Just cause i wasn't old enough doesn NOT mean that i can't judge two different players in two different time periods.

Lebron couldn't beat Carmelo Anthony in 1on1 much less the greatest player in the history of the game.

This may truly be one of the most ridiculous threads in the history of TD. Congrats to thread starter.

PS Lebron is gonna choke this year as usual (or say his elbow hurts too much hahaha)

Better defense wins. Jordan was the better defensive player than Lebron and throughout his career averaged more steals and BLOCKS than the bigger Lebron.

And then there is the mental game which in a one on one game between players of comparable skill plays a huge factor. Jordan has a definite edge here. No one, with the possible exception of Larry Bird, was better at getting in someone's head than Jordan.

You're fricking high Peej. Lebron is as quick or almost as quick as Jordan. And he has the length and jumping ability to make up for any split second he gets beat off the dribble.

He may lose to MJ...but he wouldn't lose to Melo.

so you assume all game long that all lebron is going to do is back down Jordan to about 2 feet from the basket and dunk/layup all game long?

You dont think MJ can do anything defensively to stop him?

That is severely under estimating jordan's ability. Some of you think Jordan was 6'2.

How's lebron going to block jordan's fader?

jordan's stats in a team setting mean nothing in this. Jordan abusing and harassing other SGs mean nothing. This is Jordan one on one with a player with similar athleticism who is 3-4" taller and 50-60 lbs heavier. And much stronger.

this is one on one. there is not game situations. there is not read the defense, look at the spacing and make a play. this is one on one.

Does anyone remember when the Bulls were playing the 76ers and Stackhouse was young and tearing it up. Jordan was a little older. When asked about Jordan, Stack said something to the effect that Jordan was the greatist of all time although right now he could probably beat him one on one.

That night they faced off and guarded each other the whole game. I think it ended up something like Jordan 55, Stack 9 points and a terrible game.

To bet against Jordan in his prime is a huge mistake. AGAINST ANYONE!!

I love people referencing MJ's mentality in this thread. WTF does that have to do in a one on one game? He wouldn't dish the ball out and take the shot himself? Well no shite you dumbass - its one on fricking one. Oh, do you think his great mentality means he wants to win more? His great mentality means he would some how get a better shot off?

(not at you bwall, just in general)

Jordan is 6'5 1/2 216 lbs. Lebron is 6'9 270 lbs. Both have ridiculous verticals and speed. Both have great handles

i'm not saying it'll happen every possession, but it will happen enough for Lebron to win. One on one is about ability to get to the spots on the floor where you can get shots.

lebron will still be able to get to all the spots on the floor that he needs to get to do be at his most effective. Jordan will have a much harder time doing so.

Their athleticism cancels each other out. How often do you think Jordan faced a player more athletic than him?

he doesn't have to block it.

Lebron shooting from 5' in > Jordan with a taller just as athletic hand in his face.

Jordan will have to make much, much tougher shots.

ETA: Once again Jordan is the GOAT. But this has nothing to do with that.

I agree with that, it just comes down to if the better shooter could make tougher shots over the relatively poorer shooter with relatively easier shots.
