You really don't think he got any legal advice before cutting Leach?

I'm wonder what the point was here. The AD did not need cause to fire Leach, even though he says he had cause. In Texas, you don't have to have a reason to fire someone. I see no law that he broke.

The cause is strictly for the contract, is it not?? If filed without cause, he gets $400K for the next 5 years from TT

I find it interesting that a just cause and a no cause clause would be in his contract. He has no legal basis in which to fight the termination. He will get his 400k and move on. It is best he does that.

Hope Tech enjoyed relavence while it lasted.

Someone suggested that Leach going to court was, in and of itself, good cause for firing him. My point was that it isn't, as the AD can't restrict his employees from going to court and filing a nonfrivolous lawsuit.
And I suspect Leach will not pleasantly take the liq damages and walk away. He'll want revenge.

I dont think Adam James really wanted this to be about him or the program in this manner.

quote:Really? I don't anything about him, except that the Techsters in my office say he was a trouble maker and a spoiled brat and didn't contribute much to team other than by causing trouble. I can't comment one way or another because I don't follow all aspects of Tech sports like those guys do.

quote:Oh bullshite. Adam James and his family, along with the AD, handled this in the most public way possible. He wanted back at Leach, the AD wanted back at Leach, and now Leach will want back at the AD. It's nonstop escalation on all sides.

I'm guessing that James jr. isn't the most popular player around the red raiders' practice field right now.

Don't forget! Leach does have a Law Degree

I dont think Adam wanted this to blow up like this. I will say Craig did though.

They were going into that hearing today to allow a judge who went to Baylor to decide whether Leach was going to coach on Saturday. Any time you walk into court, it's a crap shoot. The way to eliminate the risk for Tech and to make sure that the judge didn't decide who their coach was--fire Leach. I'll bet Leach and his lawyer didn't see that coming when they filed the suit.
and now for the truly ranter question.
Did Leach push the issue so he would get canned? Then he could A-collect cash, B-move to a different program, or C-become an announcer on FOX?

Once again, your welcome.
