This is so sad for the players. What a dark day for the school.

Just look at it this way...next year tech will be in a much better position to strong arm bowl committees. One of the perks of leaving the WAC for a conference with some some serious pull like C-USA.

La Tech dropping this bid, helped Central Michigan accept the bid to little caesars Bowl, Way to go Louisiana Tech!!!!!!

you are slowly but surely melting away

Why post a stupid title like this. Tech was a damn good team this year. All they needed was a few more D-backs and they might well have gone undefeated.
It's a disgrace and yet some rantard has to post this bullshite. Get a life chump.

By not playing in the Independence Bowl ? Please!
Non-BCS schools are forced to things they don't want to do every day. The financial strains are real. In-state schools talk about not playing you. At the end if the day, they can't afford not to schedule in-state games. To La Tech's credit, your boosters have "put up" when asked to shut up. Just keep doing what you are doing, you will be fine.
This is a blip on the radar. You are going to CUSA, thereby avoiding the Sunbelt. You're winning, trust me.

That can't be correct, they must have been in the decision not to go to the bowl.
When you wake up this morning, you will discover this is true.Dykes was involved in the decision process the entire time.

Maybe the King of Arrogance and the reason for this debacle, James Davison, can invent a bowl and fund it out of his own pocket.

Sonny Dykes ?@SonnyDykes
I'm heartbroken for our 31 seniors that have given so much for Louisiana Tech. They deserve to finish their careers in a bowl game.

The conference that just lost TuLame and added 4 Sun Belt teams?
Please, tell us more....

The next season Alabama played in the national championship game which is a realistic goal for them. Next seasons goal for Tech can be to turn down a chance to play ULM in the New Orleans bowl, a Conf USA tie in.

The only thing hysterical is your belief in me being a La Tech fan.

Yes. Don't be surprised if a 5th Sunbelt team is added. The Sunbelt is a "juiced up" Southland Conference, today. The teams left in the Sunbelt remind me of rats on a sinking ship. They can't get off fast enough!

Keep trying. Your knowledge of college football and bowl tie-ins is entertaining.
BTW, now that we know Dykes was in on the process, do you really believe he received no input from his players?

You also thought the players were involved in the decision process. Still sticking with that as well?

I'm guessing the players and coaching staff were part of the decision.
