Anyone else ready for the showdown Saturday?! I know it's not LSU but we are actually in a position to win our conference this weekend. Winner Saturday wins the west division. Tech is currently 8-3 and 6-1 in division. Kenneth Dixon is 2 TDs away from all time career rushing record. Weather might be an issue with rain predicted but oh well!

Should be a heck of a game with everything on the line. The "Rivalry in Dixie" should be a classic.

Thanks for catching that. I went to Tech and am a season ticket holder but I am a fan of LSU as well. Trying to reconnect with my alumni and get my boys involved from a young age. Ruston is a great town and tech fans are very proud people.

Nothing wrong with supporting your team and school. LSU fans are guilty of that as well. Most tech fans realize we aren't at the level of an LSU and are just glad to see us competing now and playing well. There are a few who try and compare our guys and it does sound arrogant and unrealistic. Tech has some great players and an athletic department finally willing to support them financially with new equipment and surroundings.

USM had won 4 games in the past 3 seasons. Monken is doing a good job over there. He will bolt for a bigger gig soon, im sure

G5 fans should have a chip on their shoulder. When they don't and "know their place", they turn into ULM.

Nothing wrong with proud G5 fans.

USM has gone from the most dysfunctional program in America to winner-take-all to the conference championship game in 3 years.

That is huge.

I get that Ellis Johnson sucks, but it's amazing how quickly he destroyed that program.

They are built on transfers and JUCO players. Not next year but the year after its going to be rooooooough in Hattiesburg.

Monken took the Sonny Dykes route and it works temporarily.

USM will have a year like Tech had in 2013 in the near future.

It's worth it though.

I'm not so sure about that. We have some good underclassmen coming up.

You are right though, we had to load up on JUCO talent b/c we were just piss poor and had injuries on both sides of the ball.

Looking forward to the game. Really enjoy being somewhat competitive again. Our schedule wasn't anything to write home about but these are teams that beat us down the past couple years so it's cool to be on the other side.

I normally don't root for Tech, but since my younger cousin will be playing football for Tech next year I guess this is a good time to start.

In other Tech news, 3 Bulldogs got Senior Bowl invites: Jeff Driskel, Kenneth Dixon, and Vernon Butler

The problem isn't the ones that are playing now, it's the depth down the road when you have more players graduate than you can fill up in a year due to signing limits.

Talent at the starting positions probably won't be an issue, but the depth will be.
