Cajuns lost 6-5 tonight. Also probably lost leadoff batter and center fielder Izzy Edwards for the year

Westin Elliott who is 6'5" and 230
I heard on the radio he's 6'5" and 190. The picture in the newspaper was no 230 lb. guy.
Right now Tech has one scholarship QB on the roster, correct?

His Hudl profile LINK says he's 225. I read somewhere else that he was 230. I guess Westin Elliot will be given a scholarship now. I don't think Jon Randall is on a scholarship at this time.

ESPN radio in Ruston said he was 190.
In any case, the QB drain has to be a concern to Tech staff and fans.

Demons get first series win of the year.
LSU - Carolina was a very good game. Kramer saved the game with his throw.

I researched this after reading the QB transfer article - they just had a new QB commit and 2 in the last class - they are fine.

McNeese up by 2.5 with 3 games left (SHSU has 6 games left). Pokes need to win 2/3 against Lamar as Sam Houston finishes the year against UIW which should be a sweep for the Bearkats.
Lions are 3 games back of McNeese and a half game back of Sam Houston and a half game up on Houton Baptist. Lions are basically playing for conference tourney positioning at this point.
Nicholls and UNO are fighting for the last tourney spot. Demons needs to win out AND have a lot of help to qualify.
Tulane fell to 2 games back. Wave have series vs houston and Memphis. Tulane hasn't played well since the LSU game.
Speaking of LSU, Tigers sit 1 game back of the SEC title. Obviously huge series in 2 weeks at Mississippi State that may decide the SEC title.
Cajuns fell 4.5 games back of UTA. Would take UTA totally falling apart at this point.
La Tech is currently up 2 games over FIU. Bulldogs sit in 5th place a game up on UTSA and Rice. Barring the Bulldogs falling apart they should be in the conference tourney.
SWAC play completed this past weekend with Grambling taking the SWAC West. There is nothing on SWAC's website regarding the conference tourney other than it starts on May 17 in New Orleans at Wesley Barrow Stadium. No idea of the format. If it is like last year I think the Tigers would start off against Prairie View.

The Cowboys had this in the bag. Now, they need at least 1 Bearkats loss and a series win against Lamar in 2 weeks to clinch the regular season title.
They keep playing like this, and they'll be lucky to be in the NCAA tournament.

That was a really bad weekend for McNeese. Should have put Sam Houston away.

They only have 3 conference games left. Home vs Lamar. This weekend is a OOC series against Creighton.

Comment From Ben
Louisiana Tech is now over .500 in conference play at 13-11. They sit at 32-15 overall, #38 in the RPI, and #9 in non-conference RPI. After Charlotte and FAU were both swept this weekend, are the ‘Dogs in the tourney if the season ended today?
Kendall Rogers:
Ben — I don’t want to make guarantees, but I do think Louisiana Tech will be in our field this week. The main thing holding the Bulldogs up until now was the conference record, and they’ve rectified that issue. I think this is a scary team moving forward given the fact they have postseason experience.

My mistake. Even with that I think they'll need to win 2/3 against Lamar as Sam should sweep Incarnate Word.
I think McNeese has to expect Sam taking 2/3 from HBU this weekend and 3 from UIW. that would put same at 21-9 in conference. McNeese at 20-7 right now and Sam having the tie-breaker. I don't see Sam winning 6 straight.

McNeese cannot improve their RPI at all for the remainder of the season. The committee will not select a +40 RPI Southland team as an at-large.
other than their record, what proof can you provide me that McNeese is a team deserving a NCAA berth? (Don't get me wrong here; winning the SLC conference in the 2017 regular season is a big accomplishment, but it won't get you a berth).
Whomever planned their schedule is either very lucky or a damn genius. They won nearly every game that they were supposed to win, keeping them high on the RPI...until now.
McNeese has been a pretender all year that lost to anyone with a heartbeat. They kind of remind me of either the 2010 or 2015 Lions teams. World beaters until the end of the season.

That's just not true. They are a bad road team but to say they lost to anyone with a heartbeat is false.

Yeah he stretched that a little but they are 6-12 against the RPI top 100 so they haven't been world beaters. To discredit them having a good year though is foolish, they will still finish with 35+ wins, and a top 45 RPI.
