Cajuns get swept. Yikes. Don't remember the last time that happened

I think it's been about 4 or 5 years since it's happened in conference. Awful, awful weekend. They looked terrible in all 3 games.

Tulane loses 2/3 to East Carolina.

At-large chances are pretty much toast. Maybe if they finish the regular season 9-2 and win the regular season conference title.

Little to no chance of them winning the conference tournament, with their thin pitching staff.

Jewett blew the game today. He's a dogshit in-game coach

Yeah, Jewett sucks.

Not hiring AC could haunt Tulane baseball for literally the next 25 years.

I've said this 1000 times but it blows my mind that they passed on Andy.

Same.

I don't know the word to describe it. Maybe it's stuck up. But if everyone thinks Tulane should do something, they usually do the opposite. Like hey, you don't know better than us. We're Tulane.

Yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. It's either that or not wanting to get someone from LSU. This isn't second guessing either, I thought it was crazy before. Maybe Jewett ends up killing it, but that was such a crazy decision

Man I really thought La Tech was going to crush in conference USA.

I didn't think they would run away with it but I definitely thought they would be doing much better than now.

They appear to have turned it around but had a really bad slump for a few weeks.

Yeah just a terrible start to conference play but three series wins vs rice, odu, and uab, followed by a series sweep of wku finally have us back to a respectable conference record. Hopefully it'll be enough to get us into the tourney as an at large.

If they can stay hot down the stretch, they have a chance to win 40 games. That would get them an at large bid I would think.

Side note - I saw Nate Harris's pitching stats today and they are ridiculous.

6-0 in 6 games as a starter
1.something ERA
3 complete game shutouts
8 saves

He will be the CUSA Pitcher of the Year for sure and probably an All-American.

As much as I wanted AC I wasn't too upset originally because I figured Jewett would be fine, but now I know he sucks.

I think if the Dogs get 40 wins and a top 40 RPI they'll get in.

However, the selection comittee has omitted some teams with really good records and resumes in the past.

LA Tech is at 39 right now which is a really good spot to be in.

In-State RPI
16. LSU
22. McNeese
39. La Tech
49. UL-Lafayette
54. Southeastern La
77. Tulane
135. UNO
168. Nicholls
217. Northwestern State
238. UL-Monroe
282. Grambling
294. Southern

I hope so. Another 40 win season would be a great accomplishment and hopefully would get us in.

And yeah he's nuts. His slider has to be the best in the country. Just to add to his stats:

Era 1.04
IP 69
K 75
BB + HBP 9
Opp Bat Avg .182

Just stupid numbers. Hopefully he can get all-American.

Wow, these RPI rankings will be shakin' up after this weekend.

McNeese lost 2-of-3 on the road to a good Sam Houston so will only drop a bit. This is a good team that has done what they're supposed to do but have lost to anyone with a pulse (including SLU)

La Tech sweeps and will stay around the same

ULL got swept as most have already pointed out and will take a nice drop even though it was on the road

SLU may take a bit of jump after sweeping SFA on the road (D1 has them @ #40)

Tulane gonna Tulane

SLU has a good week to bump our RPI up to 35ish if we can go 3-1 (hopefully one of the three is Tulane). This team hasn't been as dominant as the last three years, but hopefully if we finish with a top 35 RPI, and 35+ wins with a few wins in the conference tournament we get the benefit of the doubt from the committee. It helps the SLC is greatly improved this year.
