So what are stats then, if not true?

Damn Lafayette fans.

Cajuns have:

15th ranked ERA in the country
2nd ranked H/9 IP in the country
7th ranked K/9 IP in the country
8th ranked WHIP in the country
17th ranked fielding percentage

and have 2 pitchers in the top-10 in ERA in the country.

Nick Lee has apparently been injured most of the year which would make sense for why he sucks. However, Leger, Harris, and Burk have been very good all year. If Lee is getting better, like Robe says, we'll be set up very well for pitching.

Our hitting really is pretty shitty though, that'll be our downfall. Pitching will make it more difficult to eliminate the Cajuns though.

It's hard to even reply to this when you ignored majority of the entire post. I never said anything about their hitting. You actually say nothing surprising at all.
quote:

ULL has lost 7 games when scoring 3 runs or less. They have won 8 in the same vein. 8-7 when scoring 3 runs or less...And that "fantastic" pitching...they are 1-11-1 when giving up at least 5 runs

All of your stats points to poor hitting which I said nothing about. 8-7 when scoring 3 run or less is not surprising nor does it tell a story. Go look at the national average on W/L when scoring 3 runs or fewer. I would bet it not above .500
Go back and read, I was referring to pitching, particularly a weekend series. How they haven't lost one in a long arse time. Nick Lee has an inflated ERA because of recent bad bad outings which can be attributed to his recent inflammation.
quote:

With the exception of Gunner Leger, the pitching is suspect.

You're a joke . How can a team be tied leading the nation in shutouts and have "suspect" pitching?

News flash, UL will never be a 4 seed. It's either 1,2,3... or not in the field. Not being an arse, just telling you how it works. 4 seeds are reserved for auto bids from the worst conferences in baseball.

Historically, the only way a Sun Belt teams gets a 4 seed is if they win the auto bid but also have a losing record.

Can't we all be friends guys?

McNeese is having one of their best seasons ever, congrats. It's good for the state and the SLC to have another Louisiana school do well.

ULL is ULL. They struggled, but are heating up and will be a tough out in whatever regional they are in if they get in. That's what happens when you have experienced players and a solid coach.

Tulane turned their crap start around and is sitting at the top of the AAC (#5 RPI conference).

Tech was likely a fluke at the beginning of the season, but are going to get to 35 wins, which is a good season.

SLU has been pretty meh. We win the tough games, and choke the easy ones away. We do have a chance to be 3-0 against ULL tonight, and 2-0 against Tulane, and we won 2 out of 3 against McNeese, so not bad against the top of the in-state schools.

IMO I like that Louisiana can have 6 potential tournament teams.

All the hostility is caused by the people who haven't been discussing college baseball for very long. You can tell by the overreactions and wildly irrational proclamations about teams being shitty or great.

About tonight, Cajuns are really going to have to hope they can get a lot out of Burk tonight, and hopefully Huval can pitch. I think in a dream world we get 7 from Burk, 1 from Huval, and 1 from Marks and walk out with a W.

We had Norman up in the pen yesterday so realistically he's probably going to pitch if Huval isn't feeling up to it, and asking for 7 from starting midweek pitching is difficult (though he's been getting through 6 routinely), but we can't stretch Marks before this weekend.

Hopefully Riser sticks with a pitcher tonight and doesn't try to throw the whole bullpen if we go down a run or two like he did against LSU. If we want to keep any at-large hope alive, tonight is a must win.

And just a few bad apples from Ruston that went aoeshit the first few weeks of the season. Not many of them are good to talk baseball with.

If we're being honest, you do kind of egg them on. Lol

All ribbing aside for once, I'm impressed with the season McNeese is having. I'm impressed with the turnaround Tulane is having when the first few weeks looked like a lost cause. I think LaTech is doing great things to turn their entire program around into a respectable one but still have to prove themselves in postseason before pumping their chests like they did early on this year. That's what rubbed people the wrong way.

I think when all is said and done, LSU will host. McNeese gets in as a 2 seed. UL stays hot and earns an at-large 3 seed after falling to Coastal in Tourney Championship game, and Tulane stays hot, wins the AAC reg season and sneaks in as a 3 seed as well.

They don't make any sense.

Last week, McNeese was #22 in the RPI and unranked...and Baseball America projected them as a #2 Seed. Even in the previous week, #2 seed.

This week, ranked for the first time in program history, highest RPI for them all year, #14 coming in, #17 after losing to LA Tech, and they are a #3???

And all of a sudden LSU is no longer a National Seed.

Not that I out much weight in these things before, but man, what a joke.

This is D1 Baseball, not Baseball America. Projections are going to vary wildly over the next few weeks. Southland is the 12th ranked conference by RPI, plus McNeese is 5-10 versus the RPI top 100. All of that is going to work against their seeding, even though their RPI is strong.
