Why did you edit. I saw your link and there wasn't anything wrong with it that I saw.

It's a fair enough argument, not as broad as some people like to pretend, but it was a fair response to my question.

I honestly think a lot of resentment from Black people is that they have a completely unrealistic view of what it is to be White. Every time I hear stuff like this it is plainly obvious that they have absolutely no clue what it’s like to be White.

This happens in many facets of life.

Poor people think rich people have perfect lives, ugly people think pretty people have zero insecurities, etc...

Everybody thinks there is someone else who has it better than them, and therefore they look at those people with a jaded lens.

Honestly, I can't imagine how it feels to be a white guy in today's climate.

I mean it’s pretty normal for the most part. Most of the people who judge others by their skin color are retarded and so therefore I don’t interact with them much.

and rich people are mostly ignorant to the problems that poor people have

People build opinions and expectations based on their own experiences and largely have issues with understanding people who differ because of that

As a white male in my mid to late 20s who grew up upper middle class, I understand that my outlook on life and society is different than that of a black man who grew up poor. That doesnt mean Im wrong and hes right, or vice versa. Just means that we see things differently and our lives have largely been shaped by different experiences. I dont understand what its like to be a black person, I never will, but they also will never know what it's like to be me. And therein lies the issue. People dont want to understand. They just want to demonize and both sides are equally guilty

Same.

And for me - I’m old and Ive never given a shite whether someone was black or white- southern, 7,8 or 9 years old me circa really late 70’s stayed In the hotel room with all the black girls on my softball team not the white girls. Other kids parents evidently took it as gasp worthy I found out later. I’ve just never cared. They were the more fun girls on the team, why wouldn’t i?

I was the epitome of the late 80’s and 90’s - listening to NWA and watching Spike Lee movies, big permed hair and half arse being a little preachy myself about the inequalities of others in life.

Since, I’ve worked, I’ve lived times of good and bad. I feel like in the area of race I’ve always been fair and I will continue to be so but I just can’t muster up the energy to get involved right now. This whole moment we are in is like it’s own giant monster that’s hurt and angry and I can understand that but it’s also somewhat contrived feeling and the whole mentality of you’re either with us 100% on every thing we stand for or you’re going to called out on it and made to pay for it. I’m just a little too contrary to give in to that.

This is really my first (full opinion) post on social media on what’s going on currently in the world. It will likely be my last as well- so if silence is violence considering me a semi automatic in some nutjob’s hands. Pew pew.
