you also fail to mention the fact that he is leading the NBA in turnovers and is consistently in the top in that stat category.

Last Year:
Kobe 3.5 turnovers/g
Lebron James 3.4
Kevin Durant 3.8

seems to be about the average for elite scorers

2010-2011:
Kobe
Lebron 3.6/g
Wade 3.1/g
Kobe 3/g
Durant 2.8/g

2009-2010

Lebron 3.4/g
Durant 3.3/g
Wade 3.3/g
Kobe 3.2/g

Any other bullshite?

how can you make your team great when your starting pg is smush parker and your starting center is kwame brown?

just admit that shooting the ball 20x a game is the norm for an elite Shooting Guard/Scorer

you seem to be stuck on this one thing as if that is the line in the sand to justify Kobe's game

of course shooting guards are going to shoot the ball more dude. what's your point? I said that if most NBA starters were given the green light to shoot the ball 20 times per game, then they too could average at least 20 points per game. big deal, but since you brought it up mentioning the likes of Jordan, Durant, and LeBron - lets look at their accuracy

Career Field Goal Percentage
Jordan - .497
LeBron - .485
Durant - .471
Kobe - .454

LeBron took the Cavs to the finals with Larry F'N Hughes as his sidekick!

Kobe couldn't even lead the Lakers to a .500 overall record in his three years without Shaq and Gasol and couldn't even get out of the first round.

These are all great players.

You are trying to belittle Kobe, but you use Lebron and prime Shaq.

That is like trying to call a girl ugly by saying that she is less attractive than Jessica Alba.

I have never said Kobe was a leader. But the man is a top 15 player of all time. Give me 15 better. His 81 point game is MORE impresive than Wilts 100 point game back in 1962.

Kobe is a great player! a hall of fame player! I've said it at least 3 times in this thread. we're talking about all-time greats though so of course he's going to be compared to players like that. plus the other poster is the one who brought up Jordan, LeBron, and Durant. I just posted the facts about their shooting accuracy.

if it will make some of the SportsCenter Kobe Kool-Aid drinkers feel better though, I can compare Kobe's stats to someone like Mo Williams.

lol trying to compare the east to the west. It wasn't even close back then.

Lakers were over .500 in two outta the three years after shaq and before gasol

I have never really been a KOBE fan. BUT I dare YOU to name 15 players in the history of the NBA BETTER. I don't think you can.

and that's why he's not a top 5 or top 10 great.

arguably. I would list him somewhere between 15-20 though

quote:

Give me 15 better.

in no particular order -

Jordan
Wilt
Magic
Russell
Shaq
Robertson
LeBron
Hakeem
Bird
Kareem
Duncan
Moses
Pettit
Irving
Baylor
and Durant will likely pass him as well if he stays healthy

there are 15 off the top of my head. give or take a couple and Kobe could be in there depending on what each person considers great.

now that is just opinion and could be argued either way. both were incredible regardless, but it helped that Kobe was playing against one of the worst defensive shooting guards in NBA history in Morris Peterson. I cringed every moment when Peterson was on the floor defending as a Hornet.

Nice list.

NO it really can't. Wilt was 7'1 and that night he could not be stopped. In the era Kobe was playing in??? There is NO question. I don't care who was gaurding him. That night it would NOT have mattered. BUT I am with you as far as Kobe. He has NEVER been a leader. BUT he is still a VERY GOOD player and has been for years.

my point is that your posts are idiotic.

You criticize him for shooting 20x a game, when that is what he is supposed to do.

You criticize him for turnovers, when those numbers match up with the other great NBA scorers.

if you'd actually look shite up before posting about it, you wouldn't come across as a fool

I didn't criticize him. I stated fact. He is leading the NBA in turnovers this year.

see now you're just showing your Kobe love. cursing and name calling simply because I don't agree with you about Kobe. its not that serious dude lol

by the way I posted the field goal shooting percentage of the players you decided to bring up compared to Kobe. I noticed you were awfully quite about it, just making sure you saw it.

irving leads the nba in turnovers/game. kobe is 3rd with harden and durant right behind him

nothing to do with the fact that durant and lebron play small forward and are much bigger

and i'm not really a kobe lover, and I hate the lakers. He is obviously an all-time great and not the most overrated player in any sport. That is an incredibly dumb statement

Irving has only played in 18 games this year man
you're looking at turnovers per game, not total turnovers. that would be like saying a player leads the league in points because their points per game total is high, but they only played in a fraction of games compared to others.

Kobe leads the league in turnovers with 99. the closest to him is Brandon Knight with 90.

If my main agenda was to sell a lot of jerseys and T-shirts then without a doubt Kobe would be on it. However if my main agenda was to win basketball games then absolutely not.

Also considering the fact that he is scheduled to make 28M and 30M at age 34 and 35.
