Some of you need to go and talk to some older folks. Things were different 40-50 years ago. The Karl Malone story is really not too different than Roy Moore's story. The demonic liberal press demonized Roy Moore because he came back to his hometown after law school and wanted a young woman straight out of high school. And, the parents were all for their daughters being with him. I'm sure back then this girl's parents were all for her being with Karl Malone too. A man being around 7-10 years older than his wife is an optimal age difference. Men of today have gotten accustomed to marrying declining women.

Karl Malone is wrong via the lens of today's social standards and today's criminal code. Back then it was socially acceptable (and legal in some places in the U.S.) for a man in his late teens/early 20s to date and marry girls in their early teens. I won't even address the other stuff you wrote @saintsfan22. I said what I said.

Here is what always bothered me about the Malone story. When the paternity suit came about after the birth, Karl didn't even respond to it the first time. Ignored it (probably to avoid admitting the statutory element). That first suit asked for $200.00 a week. It drug on and on and finally like when he was 6, a small town penny ante judge ruled, yes Mr. Malone, you're the father and you're going to pay. $125.00 per week. Unreal.

That's not KJ though. Karl was and still is married to KJ's mother.

As a nuggets fan back in the day there's no doubt that Malone was soft. He wilted time and time again in the really tough situations. Sloane and Stockton where the guts of those teams.
Utah really is full of racist. Lol
Malone won mvp while mj was in his prime. I'd say he played fairly well for the good ole boys in Utah.

Nah brah. That was acceptable right here in Louisiana. My parents have told me of plenty of stories of high school teachers marrying their former students soon after their students graduated from high school to teen girls dating men who were in their late teens/early 20s when the girls were in junior high and high school. My mother even told me of a woman she grew up with whose adult boyfriend would drop her off to their junior high school. The woman later married the man and they were married until he died. And, these are stories aren't concentrated in one racial group either.

I believe Romeo and Juliet laws were different back in the early 80’s. Hell I remember in the early 90’s twenty something year olds taking 16 & 17 yr old high school girls to the prom. As long as the parents didn’t mind the law didn’t get involved. Of course things are much different now.

As an older folk myself...you are full of shite to imply/say this was acceptable to a large degree.
That is different than saying some areas/socio-economic levels/cultural/economic groups did turn more of a blind eye to these types of situations.
But having sexual relations with a 13 year old would still qualify you as a pedophile POS during that time.
