I think they have the talent to do so which is what I was arguing about. Obviously doesn’t mean it’s going to happen but I think there’s a chance

That’s a fair point and I can’t dispute it.

Stafford is probably 7-10 and Cousins is 10-15.

PFF had a tweet that was absolutely blasting the Chiefs-- essentially, if you remember the pressure Mahomes faced in the Super Bowl--- the thing that it most closely resembled statistically in pro football last year? The pass protection of the Minnesota Vikings for the entire 2020 season. And Cousins was still a Top 10ish QB, statistically.

times sacked in 2020.

Cousins 39
Stafford 38

Cousins did complete 67.6 % of passes while Stafford was a 64%

Cousins 35 TDs 13 ints.

Stafford 26 TDs 10 ints.

both QB's had over 500 passing attempts which kinda surprised me. You wouldn't think that from Cousins seeing how they have one of the best running games in the league. Detroit had one of the worst run games that didn't exactly help open things up for Stafford.

feel like only the elite QBs are good enough to make up for things like a shitty OL, bad receivers, and no run game.

There are only two QBs that can do that and that’s Mahomes and Rodgers.

Incomplete context. Times pressured and hit, not jus being sacked, matters-- and Cousin's protection was the worst in the NFL on every down, a rare triple crown in NFL history.

okay.

just adding to the discussion instead of saying Stafford is way better/thread type of responses.

Stafford is an absolute stud QB. Cousins is serviceable but Stafford is elite.

What's the list of "absolute stud" QBs who are "elite" that played their 1st 12 seasons without a single playoff win?

Was Barry Sanders an elite RB?

Yes.

Was Barry Bonds an elite baseball player?

Stafford currently just got jettisoned to the Rams.

and we are supposed to say who is the better QB currently?

are we only going off what each guy did last season or judge them for a body of work?

cause that so easily gets lost in the shuffle to often.
