There are going to be a few guys who will absolutely hate their lives after having an off day playing on this course. You're absolutely fricked if you end up in there.

They play in these type of conditions once a year and every year somebody complains about it. I wish they would just play, the conditions are the same for everybody.

This. Players bitched and bitched about Chambers Bay. You're a professional golfer. Act like it

They probably have input on the PGA setup. Quit being a bitch everyone has to play the same course. Also that video sucked bc there is no way he will swing like that while playing.

I love when the rough is nasty.

Oh the crosses pro golfers bear

Sometimes the grass is high. Sometimes your side pieces get out of line. Sometimes you have to change endorsement sponsors and make money from someone new.

It would be one thing if it was way off line, but you shouldn't have fescue that close to the fairway. They have gotten stupid trying to make the US Open as hard as possible.

It's time to just dial the golf ball back in and bring some of the old school courses back in play.

I agree with him. It's lazy golf course design to just grow the rough out in order to keep scores down to par. The USGA is a joke with what they do to golf courses for the US Open.

Its the same for evwryone, so its not jnfair. Just because they can't post 16 below, they cry.

Man up, play straight shots. You wanna try 300 + tee shots? Feel free. But the guy managing the course with a 2 iron will wear you out all day.

Pebble Beach will play different in 2019 then it does when they play every year. The USGA like to penalize players for erratic driving...I see no problem with it.

I never said it was unfair. I understand everyone plays the same course.

I'm just saying it isn't good golf. The USGA shows up at these courses and tightens the fairways and grows out the rough. Typically changing the way architects intended for the holes to be played strategically. But I guess they understand weekend hackers just want to see a bloodbath once a year, so they give them what they want.

Also, no one is going to be able manage this course with a 2 iron when it's playing 7800+ yards.

I see no problem with the setup. Thick rough is the most fair way to make a course tough and put a priority on ball striking. I'd much rather thick rough than false fronts where a well struck shot ends up 40 yards from the green.
