Dumb Pels fans

Oh wait the GM poll is your gospel, I forgot

quote:

The 2015-16 NBA general manager survey at NBA.com is here, and it reveals that 86.2 percent of GMs would start a franchise with Anthony Davis, a significant shift from the last few years when LeBron James dominated that category. James and Kevin Durant both got 6.9 percent of the vote to finish well behind Davis.

GM poll was something interesting and legit when it first started, but over time it's become akin to the CFB coaches poll in that it is passed down and filled out by the interns or other people in the organization other than GMs/coaches.

To be fair, they babied AD. He didn't play the amount of minutes he should've been playing.

I know it only has Towns as a minute more per game, but still. Towns has had a better rookie year, but AD is a special player. Saying they are close right now is stupid.

I bet every GM in the league would choose AD between the two

I'm not necessarily disagreeing. I just don't think the gap is as large as you're making it out to be.

If you're looking at raw statistics, Anthony Davis has averaged nearly 36 minutes/game over the last three seasons and 17 field goal attempts/game. On the other side, Towns is averaging six less minutes/game and averaging four less shots/game.

Per 36 minutes, the two are comparable. You would look and give the edge to Anthony Davis, but it is simple: the gap isn't what you're making it out to be. It really is impressive just how good Karl-Anthony Towns has been as a rookie.

I like Towns a lot. I think the guy has loads of potential, he's easily ROY thus far to me, even with Porzingis playing as well as he has.

I guess I'd like to see him over a couple years before I say he's right there with Davis. He certainly has the potential to be a top 10 player in the nba, and I think he has a great shot to do so, but Davis is already there.
