He already has a HOF resume

Before yesterday, he was the GOAT K. So if a K can make the HOF, he was in on 9-25-21.

Not saying that they should have... but could the Lions have put someone at the goal line to jump up and swat the ball away? There's no 'goaltending' in the NFL, right?

Both the Ravens and Lions pbp guy sucks

Not-so-Fun fact: The Ravens play-by-play guy has one of the most unfortunate name coincidences out there. His name is… Gerry Sandusky. Yep, it’s even pronounced like “Jerry.”

That kick is just all sorts of weird...like the Lions thought it was going to be a fake or had money on the Ravens.

There's no rush up the middle, everyone is to the sides, nobody jumps, some dude just stands 5 yards behind the line watching.

That is a kick that most college teams can block. Tucker went about 7 yards back and took the longest running start to a kick I've ever seen. The D should've been through the line by then or at least gotten some penetration.

Tucker got to kick that FG like it was a free kick.

Dude was nothing special in college, undrafted free agent, and now he's easily the best kicker in the NFL today, and arguably one of the best kickers to ever play the game.

Is Justin Tucker a hall of fame lock now?

Eventually, but not yet. There are currently only 4 kickers in the HOF, only 2 of which didn't play another position (Andersen and Stenerud). Vinatieri is likely the only one on deck right now to get in.

According to Pro Football Reference, the most similar kicker to Tucker at this point in his career is Mike Vanderjagt, and we know how his career fell off a cliff. Kickers are weird, and have always been weird.

At this rate, Tucker will get in one day, but he needs more longevity to be a lock.

He's the best kicker ever. I'd love to hear an argument against a guy that is the most accurate kicker in NFL history and has the longest FG in NFL history (and Super Bowl champ in a year he absolutely crushed).

He's clearly the greatest of the generation and I think of all time as well. I get he hasn't had the opportunity to score as many points as some of the long timer guys like Mort, but he's the best ever.

The kick reminds me of another Detroit Lions identical 19-17 loss with an NFL record field goal as time expired in1970:
