Just to show you how insane the CFP format is..

Say for argument's sake that 7-5 Duke upsets 10-2 Virginia next weekend and wins the ACC championship, they are likely left out of the playoffs entirely. Meanwhile, ACC #3 Miami could get into the playoff as an at-large team. This shite makes no sense.

the entire sport is a joke right now
-the committee and their fluid made up logic (being able to use an injury to a player to move a team down in rankings below a team they lost to head to head)
-the arbitrary dates with signing day and transfers that completely conflict with post season causing coaching changes and roster management to collide
-the constantly expanding playoffs and just making post season of the sport worse, which now lead to conference championship games being meaningless and actually worse for most teams who make them

Almost as bad as when it was only 2 teams and a division runner up got in over other conferences’ champs

I love how when LSU sucks that y'all say the sport is a joke, but when you get good again it's magically the best thing ever.

Yeah, and we decided to blow up the entire sport over a one-off fluke. How's that working out for us, eh?

nah, it’s just made everything about the end game of the season so much less fun and exciting in general.
there’s no leadership or bigger vision for any of this which is why it just has to keep changing because new flaws get brought up every season

It's actually pretty funny. See y'all in a few years when you get an actual coach.

As other have said, if the goal is to pick the best 12 teams, then just have Vegas select the 12. My sense is they know just a little bit more than the committee.

You think the sport is a joke now? I take it you weren't following football before the BCS when the Associated Press would just pick a national champion? Those were fun times in the sport.

The chase for the almighty dollar by all parties (players, coaches, NCAA and broadcasters) has ruined the sport in a span of 5 years.

They were actually.
Every game used to mean something. One loss could implode your entire season and two losses all but guaranteed the season was over if the national championship was your goal. Which is why few teams made it their priority. What made college football so fun back in the day was beating your rival, winning your conference, and going to play an elite team from another conference in a New Years' Day bowl game. If you won that game you had a chance at being voted the best team in all of college football. If you didn't quite make the vote, oh well, you still won your conference and beat your rival.
There used to be loyalty to your university and to your state. The players were legitimate amateur athletes who played for the love of the game and for the love of their state/university. Nowadays everyone is a mercenary for hire. I can't grow to love any of these kids because they could be playing for a different team in six months. It's all so stupid.

2019 was magically the best season ever tho right?

2019 LSU and 2020 Alabama are the two best teams the past 10 years in college football.

For some, yes. But, it was unquestionably the last "pure" season.
No NIL
No unlimited portal (Burrow transfered as a graduate under long standing rules so it is not the same)
No Covid shortened season
No infection of racial politics

the naming of the actual champion is fine and more fair now, but it’s everything else that is ruined.
maybe it’s just nostalgia, but beating your rival was fun, winning the conference was fun, bowl games were fun… fan bases could look back on season and remember them based on where your team finished and who you beat in which bowl game.
now it’s playoffs or bust for every team, and fans players and coaches don’t care about anything else. and they playoff format keeps changing every few years

Can't wait until 2030 when the game is magically healed when LSU makes the CFP

I was! And it was!
Bowl games actually mattered to the team and the fans. Conference championships meant something.
National championships were secondary and fun to debate what team would beat what team. Now if you don’t make the playoffs (and sometimes if you do) players don’t play or transfer and nothing matters except the national championship. It’s also created these meaningless mega-conferences. They’re insane!
We sold what was great about college football for money and a champion. We are watching Rome burn and it’s sad.

The 4 seed in the playoffs is about to have their head coach and multiple other coaches leave before the playoffs start. It ain’t a serious sport at the moment.

I love how you even added the caveat "at the moment"
Clowns gonna clown though I suppose.
