They must realize it by now. Unfortunately, they've taken such a hard stance on it in the past that backtracking would make them look weak.

OJ Mayo is the only one in the last decade, but I don't think it was weed.

Just look at what the policy did to the Steelers last year. Took the most exciting offense in the league and removed Leveon Bell for a quarter of the season and Martavis Bryant for the entire season.

Now that's good business.

As a 22 year old he put up over 1600 yards in only 14 games with Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell throwing him the ball. He might not be a once in a lifetime talent, but he's an all pro talent. He's a hall of fame talent if he could have replicated his 2013 season. And he's still only 26.

Goodell has the power to supercede the owners on matters like this.

Yes, but he has the authority to make this call.

Link?

I'm looking for it now and can't find anything to support that. Without evidence to the contrary, I place the blame at the top.

If the owners told Goodell to change the Substance Abuse Policy, changes would be made.

Or the fricking player himself. Yes, it would be great if the NFL didn't care about weed, and I don't thin they should care about it. But they did, and he knew it, and he fricked up anyway.

How good of an all-pro talent is he when he's not suiting up for 45 out of 48 last games?

The Browns are continually a shite team because of boneheaded personnel moves. Manziel not withstanding.

The majority usually acknowledge that the player is an idiot for getting busted, but the underlying problem still remains. It's a dumb policy and does nothing but hurt the league.

This is basically my view as well. Testing for it is ridiculous, but I've got a hard time feeling bad for Gordon. He continually used a drug with no chemical dependency knowing full well it was disallowed. He made it painfully clear he would rather smoke weed than play in the NFL.

You watched 3 Browns games more than once?

This. They will reinstate him as soon as he is traded to a more suitable franchise like New England or Dallas.
