Rodgers
Brees
Brady
Peyton
Eli
Rothlisberger
Romo
Ryan
Cam
Rg3
Russel Wilson
Luck

Winning a few payoff games doesn't make him some stud QB. Mark Sanchez had success in the playoffs with a similar team built around him.

Is he a successful QB on a talented team? Sure. Is he a decent QB? Sure. Is he one of the best in the league? No. He hasn't even registered a season inside the top 10 in pass yards or TDs in the NFL

One good season from each of these doesn't make them a better QB than a guy who has made the playoffs in each of his first five seasons and is now taking his team to the Super Bowl.

Your list here though is pretty interesting given that there isn't a single analyst on the planet who would put about half of this list ahead of Flacco.

Ah, the ole " what have you done for me lately" fan. You're probably kaepernick in your top 5 huh?

If the NFL redrafted, you're telling me Flacco would the 7th QB off the board?

This literally makes no sense. That seems to be your mantra with 3 rookies rated above Flacco.

No.

This has no relevance on who is the 7th or 8th "best" QB in the NFL. Age would certainly be a factor when drafting a QB. So would offensive scheme. These posts really show about where your knowledge level is at.

I would say a top 7 or 8 QB in the NFL is great. If you dont think he is top 8 in the league at this point then you are an idiot.

That's highly debatable - and probably wrong since most people seem to disagree.

Flacco has the ability to play at an unbelievable level and the ability to absolutely stink up the joint like few other NFL QBs.

The top four QBs are pretty well settled as being Rodgers, Manning, Brady, Brees in some order (Brees 4th). Most people list Eli and Big Ben not long afterwards on the strength of their postseasons (which is not a great way to rank QBs but probably the best argument for Flacco and their results are better than his).

Matt Ryan is probably emerging as a consensus #7 and the 8th could be debated between Newton, Cutler, Rivers, Luck, RG3, Romo, RW, Flacco, Schaub, Kaepernick, and Dalton

That's not elite buddy. He's gets a lot of flack and may be a underrated, but he's certainly not elite.

Everyone's definition of "elite" can be different "buddy". I never used that word either. I used the word great. I said he was top 8 QB. I would probably put him at 8 right now. I said in my definition I would label the 8th best QB in the NFL as great given that that would place him in the top 25%.

Since winning playoff games makes a QB, where do you have Sanchez?

4-2 in the playoffs, all road wins
2 AFC championship games
2 comeback wins and 2 game wining drives

Must be top 10

Elite
Great
Good

I see. Even if that's how you would categorized the tiers, you're still being a bit generous. Now if he manages to get a ring, you might have a strong case buddy.

It wasn't til Eli won his ring when he started getting his due.

Remind me again but quoting where I said winning playoff games makes a good QB?

I said that Flacco has been to the playoffs his first five years in the NFL and that he is in the Super Bowl this year. Remind me again where exactly that I said that is the reason he is in the top 8 QBs in the league today.

But I like how you keep trying to put words in my mouth. You are doing a really good job with that.

Who are you pointed to as having separated himself from the others in that group? Luck, RW, and RG3 have played fantastic football but only have one year to point to. Stafford, Newton, Dalton, and Kaepernick also have small samples to look at. If you want to debate between Rivers, Cutler, Schaub, Flacco, and Romo there's more data and more controversy. Even if you consider Flacco the clear number one out of that (more veteran) group I'm not sure I'd take him over the rookies or guys with limited experience like Kaepernick, Stafford, and Newton

Gee you think?

The list of QBs obviously changes constantly. Because I would have Flacco at 8 right now does not mean that Luck, Wilson, and RG3 could NEVER get in front of him. But today, they are not in front of him. Right now he is playing like a top 5 QB in the NFL. I would have him ranked at 8 behind:

Brees, Brady, Mannings, Rodgers - Eli 5th , other 4 in no particular order.

Roethlisberger and Ryan.

There are no stats that support he's the 8th best QB in the NFL. You mention his playoff success

If its not playoff success and obviously not his statistics, then what makes him the 8th best QB? Let me guess, "moxie" right?

Right, exactly. Only one year. Today, there is no way I would put those guys in front of Flacco given what Flacco has done in his years in the league. That isn't to say those guy wont move ahead of him one day. Possibly very soon.

I absolutely believe he has separated himself from Rivers, Schaub, Romo, Cutler, Dalton and Stafford.

You're pretty much just an arsehole. All you have done is put words in my mouth.
