We keep hearing how Tressel is a good man, and has done so much good. I want to hear from the OSU fans who are close to the situation. Based on what, is he a good man and what are these so many good things he has done? We keep hearing these things but no one ever says what they are?

Is this resignation by Tressel admirable or ashamefull?

It is guttless. He had several opportunities to do do the right thing & chose not to. At the press conference Tressel will do the puppy dog tears and act like a stand up guy (which he ain't).

More stuff is bound to come out from SI & others.

I understand there are red sweater vests on sale 90% all over Columbus.

I look at Tress the way I look at Woody. A good coach, a better person, who made an awful decision (probably awful decisions in Tress' case) and rightfully (though likely "encouraged" to, not just on his own accord) resigned. It's defintely a bit of a black mark, but it still doesn't overall define him, or come close to fully defining him, to be honest.

I also expect the general public to look at it like they do at Woody, and that's to mostly remember the ending.

There's no way that Tressel is the only casualty from this. Where's the AD? the school President? All of them blindly turned an eye to this as well and even joked about it "I hope Jim Tressel doesn't fire me, ha ha!"

Tressel has given so much money to charity. Does unbelievable work with the armed forces and does a bunch of work with the church. He's done a lot bra

How do you know they weren't the ones that "encouraged" him to resign? I doubt he just did it on his own.

He may be a good person on the outside, but he is probably a bigger cheat than any of us realize. My guess is the NCAA and OSU are uncovering some crazy shite in their investigations and he had to go.
