I think that the play worked so well last night because Hardiman is so small that the Niner's D didn't noticed his cut back to the outside right away as he did it right behind a TE(I think), and he is so quick that that delay in reaction was all it took for him to get wide open.
Corndog against the Eagles last year was just awful defense. I'm not sure what they were even trying to do on that play. Total bust/miscommunication.
