You're calling me an e-douche, but you're saying that the 3rd best team in the AFC doesn't belong in the playoffs.

OH the JETS CAN beat the Colts next week, BUT the NFL and the refs won't let them. BOOK IT.

The NFL can gain a great deal more with NEW YORK winning than they can with Indy winning...

The Colts were winning and then they pulled their starters. Their back up fumbled setting up the go ahead TD. The Jets took and held the lead on the Colts back-ups. That is what happened. What would have happened if the Colts starters stayed in? No one know and its an academic question anyway.

This is a prime example of why you are an e-douche. They did not have the 3rd best record after 16 regular season games, they had the 5th best record. I think the playoffs should be between 4 and 8 teams, so the Jets would not qualify. That's just my opinion, its not my league so the NFL can do what they want.

I wouldn't mind if the NFL went back to only letting division champs make the post season, but they stand to lose a lot of money if they did that.

But they currently have the 3rd best record in the AFC. Take away the Indy win, and they still have the 3rd best win. All this after beating two division champs on the road in consecutive weeks.

Not only do the Jets belong in the playoffs; they belong in the AFC championship game.

of course its money driven, I can't fault the NFL for that. Its also why if anything they will expand the playoff. I'm just stating my view as a sports purist. I'd rather have the season mean more and have few teams make the post season.

I don't care. I'm making my judgement based on the 16 game regular season at which point they had the 5th best record.

the way the system is set up, they did what they needed to to get to the AFC CG, so absolutely the belong in the AFC CG.

What would make more $?

a) current system
b) 2 more regular season games, and only division winners go to playoffs

Still bitter that the Texans did make the playoffs.

If you are directing that at me, no, the Texans had their chance and blew it. I do not fault the Colts or Bengals who took care of their own business.

They lost today by 3 in a game their pro bowl kicker missed 3 FG.

The Jets are a prime example of what's wrong with playoff that have too many teams

Did you see that stat that Kaeding prior to this game hadn't missed a FG from 40 yards or less since 2007? 40+ games.

All 3 of his misses were less than 40 yards. They deserved to lose because of that fact alone.

That's why I love the NFL, teams control their own destiny by winning games on the field, not with style points in the minds sportswriters, pollsters, or even the brilliant intellectual minds that post on message boards.

By definition destiny is not something you can control but I digress.

Where exactly are the regular season games played if not on the field?

What you call style points are the results of 16 regular season games. That do BTW take place "on the field".
