Sure, but at that time, with sudden death over time rules, he figured if he punted the ball, the Saints would win by driving and kicking the FG any ways. The result would be the same, Falcons lose. If he converts, they could drive and win. Basically, he didn't trust his defense to stop Drew Brees, and I wouldn't have either.
This decision tonight was just stupid.

He got piled on not due to merit, but because he bucked the conservative NFL decision there, which was a decent choice.
However, tonight was dumb, he should have taken the points.

As a Falcons fan, I hope we shite the bed for the remainder of the season. I'm tired of the complacency with this coaching regime. They make no adjustments, they hold nobody accountable, and they sure as shite don't have a fire to win. They play more to not lose than to win.
We would also see some personnel changes as it pertains to the players. Our offensive and defensive lines could all be handed walking papers and I wouldn't care one damn bit. Not a single one of them is worth an NFL roster spot.
