Best shortstop in AL not in, I won't watch... 5x Gold Glove winner, best defensive shortstop in AL

quote:I work with a couple Yankee fans who hate Jeter. Yesterday I told them that it sounded like a Zeppelin fan who "hates" "Stairway to Heaven" as a way to one-up all the other Zeppelin fans as a form of fan snobbery. They actually agreed with me.
For being a Yankee fan, you sure hate Jeter quite a bit.

Ok? You were being sarcastic, so I chose to respond to the guy who wants to watch Jeter over Cabrera because he's a Yankee.

I think many would prefer to watch Jeter over Cabrera.... which is why Jeter had more fan votes

Now that is just silly why would you use things like facts.
How is it that Yankee fans don't like Jeter? What is there that is not to like about him? I
By the way Guidry and and Donny were my favorites too. Now it is Jeter and Swish.

quote:Nunez > Jeter at this point... it isn't that I don't like Jeter, I just don't think he really helps the Yankees much anymore. I understand the sentiment about him being with Yankees his career, but the contract was dumb, and Jeter doesn't really give the Yankees anything at the top of the order.

Im still not ready to say this. I wasn't overly impressed with Nunez.

I agree, but that is on Joe not him.

Just curious if the game is on the line who would you rather have at bat Jeter or Nunez?
Posted on 7/8/11 at 6:48 pm to ssgtiger
Nunez... given just small sample size Nunez and Jeter both have similar OBP, Nunez higher avg/slugg. Plus I think Nunez was improving with more playing time, he commits more errors but I bet he gets to more balls than what Jeter does as well.

I'm really not surprised neither are going to participate. Both are advancing in age and are starting to break down. They're great players and they both know that the regular season and staying healthy for the long hail is more important than some exhibition.

only for winners that is. if they were with some loser/me first organization then this wouldn't be a consideration
