that's my point...Pernetti getting fired for meaningless things, yet Jacobs is still there and he has his own issues

double standard

Pretty fricked up world we live in today when rampant drug use, academic scandal and paying players is morally accepted and praised compared to "coaching players too hard"

You actually call that shite coaching? Come on man, the guy was abusing the players and the proof is there for anyone and everyone to see. Unless he's coaching the guantanamo bay all stars that shite doesnt belong around basketball.

Well if you had video evidence or audio of coaches paying players then yea, they'd be fired.

It's quite obvious, there is video evidence of the Rutgers coach doing something that many people call objectionable. The AD made a ruling on the basis that it would be handled in-house, but it got leaked and got fired because of the decision he made.

Why would I go into the field of stating the obvious

Made this comment in the other thread but I'll drop it here:

If anything, fire the people who hired him in the first place...

What does that tell you about the board who approved his contract? They hired him to do his job, and he obviously thought the punishment fit the crime, yet they still undermine him?

Don't hire him in the first place if you plan to question his decision making and don't trust the job he can do. Very hypocritical. Let the guy do his job.

Only reason this is a story is because the douche director of player personnel got pissed that his contract wasn't renewed and ran to the media with his story

He publicly embarrassed the university and the video coming out hurts their chances of recruiting in the future. Rutgers made the right call.

Almost everything at auburn has just been allegations so far

Once social media gets ahold of things it's pretty much gameover. They obviously had faith in him to handle the punishment inside the institution but they (board/prez) made sure the buck stopped with him.

And the situation at Rutgers wasn't biased either?

All the media ran was a 2 minutes loop of him throwing balls and using profanity over a three-year period...and to make matters worse, it came from a butthurt former staff member whose contract wasn't renewed

It took ESPN two to three days until they finally started reporting that some of his players still support him.

It was a one-sided affair from the beginning

There was proof. National bias plays an important role in the job of a college basketball coach. Public perception is everything and it is hard to defend what he did.
