Not an FSU fan but this is crazy hyperbole.

He had one real criminal serious accusation. And it might have been real, who knows?

But the rest was TMZ fluff.

Winston is seen by several students jumping up on a table on campus and screaming a sexually charged expletive-laced phrase that was made popular on the internet. Big crime. Is that illegal now?

Cops show up and the two say. were shooting at squirrels with a pellet gun, and they are released without charges being filed. Big crime, BB gun shooting. Arrest Ralphie from "A Christmas Story."

Winston is accused of entering a Burger King in Tallahassee and helping himself to soda from the fountain machine without paying for it. A restaurant employee later tells police she gave Winston a cup of water but that he poured the water out and helped himself to several cups of soda despite her objections. No charges are filed. Big crime, free Root Beer.

Winston is accused of stealing $32.72 worth of crab legs from a Tallahassee supermarket. He is given a civil citation that allows him to perform community service and is suspended from the FSU baseball team until he completes that work. Winston tells police he “forgot” to pay for the crab legs and publicly apologizes.

The only thing really important and substantial was the rape allegation, which is bad enough...but he wouldn't have played if he "was nothing but trouble.". All of the other stuff weren't even real legal issues.

None even amounted to misdemeanor charges.

Average college kid has done worse with fraternity pranks.

His one potential real crime we all know about. And only he and his accuser know the truth.

But don't lump other college fluff into that real potential heinous crime.

He might have done something really bad...but it wasn't shooting a BB gun or sneaking a soda. Many run-ins with the law makes you sound like he was knocking over liquor stores and robbing banks. Which makes you so shocked that a guy who sneaked a free soda can totally turn his life around.

None of the shite he did was a big deal. But the dude was a starting QB for what was supposed to be a NC winning team and he couldn't stop doing stupid shite for 5 minutes. It got ridiculous.

Football wise, he is extremely smart. He can break down plays and defense as well as any QB in college I have seen. He also made a 4.0 in high school, has a 3.5 at FSU, and made a 27 on the wonderlic. He isnt actually stupid. I think he just has some tendencies to be an immature dumbass when off the field. But it terms of on the field and actual smarts, he is far from stupid
