decision making
footwork
pocket awareness

dude threw off his backfoot straight to a defender, and he's lucky he dropped it, even if he managed to get it past that defender, there were two more between his guy and the ball.

He really wasn't that impressive in the title game. He is a big guy, with a big arm, and I do love his attitude, his demeanor didn't change no matter the point in the game. I do think he's a leader. His flaws, of which he has a few, can be worked on in the next two years. Jimbo fisher can coach up a qb like no other.

but he is nowhere near the kind of prospect Andrew luck was.

Luck doesn't even have that strong of an arm. I think it was his only criticism going into the draft. Jameis threw a guy out at third from right field by himself. There is no question Jameis has a much stronger arm than Luck.

That throw was nice but also remember it's only 320 in right field and he was not that deep. Still that throw

Kapernick had a 94MPH fastball, and his arm is like 4 ticks up from Winston.

Im not saying Winston doesnt have a strong baseball arm, but it doesn't mean the can zip the football the same way

I'm with you. I thought it was hilarious that because Winston can throw a guy out at third from right field, that means he has a stronger arm than Luck.

It's one thing to throw 70 yards when you can build momentum into a throw, it's another to do it in the pocket with men trying to kill you.

Also baseball=/=football. Different grip, different release.
Best pitcher in my highschool could throw 96 with movement that would scare the living daylights out of you. Yet couldn't throw a football worth a crap.

I think people are confusing "lack of arm strength" vs. "throwing with poor mechanics/footwork" though.

Jameis was very sloopy in the pocket. Over striding, not transferring weight, etc etc.

Through out the season...he was much better.
Jameis freshman highlights

sidenote: Dude had to put on 15 pounds since the end of the season. He didnt look as in shape during the NC game.

The thing about Luck..

Even when he throws 3 or 4 ints...

He still plays good.

Agree Jameis won't be near the prospect as Luck was.
