Marshall played through the end of November so in a normal year he completed a season. I can’t blame him one bit about opting out 2 meaningless games when his numbers were very good for the year already and his history of injuries. What more do you want from the guy? Helped team to natty in 2019 and was a top WR threat in the conference last year. Go make your money. You’ve earned it.

To not quit on his team

Maybe he'll get a clause in his contract that says he can quit the season once his NFL team is eliminated from the playoffs.

He doesn’t need that because they are actually paying him money to play

If the NFL was a free rec league maybe you’d have a point

That's a good bit faster than I thought he'd run. I didn't think he was slow, but mid to late 4.4s.

I always thought Marshall was built better for the pro game than college.

Playing college football disqualifies you from being eligible to play in the NFL?

No but it involves a risk to that payday to do so for players who have already proven their value to NFL teams

So college football teams should shut their season down once they have been eliminated from a playoff/conference title aspirations? A 5 game schedule should be enough for about 100 teams. And then we can let the others quit as they are eliminated.

That’s exactly your argument. When your team is eliminated, just quit.

How is that inaccurate to what you have stated?

Somehow you jumped from me saying I have no issue with top flight NFL prospects protecting their value to saying college teams should just stop playing after 5 weeks

You went so far into left field I don’t even know where to begin looking

Top notch OL to be had at the top of the 2nd. OL is deeper than WR this year. Plus they picked up Reiff in FA and will have Jonah Williams back from injury. They need Chase if he’s there.

So they should just quit and not play college football. Cool.

If their value is already locked up and they don’t want to risk it? Sure go for it. Who am I to tell a kid not to take the guaranteed paycheck
