The Jaguars were rumored to have Fournette on the trading block during the NFL Draft but were unable to even fetch a 7th-round pick for their former first-rounder. With today's news, 2020 will assuredly be Fournette's last year with the Jaguars, and it's not a guarantee that he's still on the team when we kick off. The Jaguars are clearly ready to move on and even brought in more competition today by signing pass-catching RB Chris Thompson, who now reunites with coach Jay Gruden. Fournette is unlikely to see the 265 carries and 100 targets that he saw last season.

That’s probably best for both sides. The jags are a dumpster fire

I doubt they couldn't get a 7th round pick

I’m surprised no ones tried to get him. He had a pretty good year last year considering the QB situation they had

Fournette owes alot of money to that shitty Auburn defense he ran through in 2015

Apparently best for 31 other teams too.

He will be a good hand cuff in fantasy for when the jags cut him and he ends up a backup some place.
Edit: As an LSU fan I can acknowledge his style doesn’t fit very well with high level running backs bringing something to the table from a receiving perspective. And I am not talking about a large volume of dump offs that yield nothing for the offense which is what his 100 receptions largely were last year.

I Probably wouldn’t exercise that option for any RB logistically

Is the MSB still pretending LF is good?

Please post the stat comparison over the first 3 seasons to show how wrong you are.

The guy that ran for 225 and led the league in rushing at the midway point last year?
WITH DOGSHIT AT QB
Yeah, he may not be elite but he's not a scrub rb by any means.

Why trade for someone if you know they’re about to get cut? The only benefit is not having to risk someone else scooping him up first. Someone will grab him as a bruiser to complement a scat back. I could see Fornette getting reunited with Edwards-Helaire up in KC. That would be an ideal situation for him.
I could see them cutting Fornette from a mile away. They cleaned out their whole team, just about, during the offseason and Leonard was the lone man left. They want a new identity, and Leonard was part of the old one that revolved around having a nasty, hard hitting defense and handing it off to Fornette 30 times a game to run face-first into 9 guys in the box. They want to transition to a spread passing air raid offense, and despite his reception numbers Leonard isn’t great at being a receiver out of the backfield or a pass blocker. He’s a hammering one-cut, between the tackles half back, and that’s not what the Jags want anymore. I doubt he’ll have trouble finding a team that still needs a bruiser.
