So WG, you admit that your AD sucks.

Yes

Their opinion is that UG football will need a UA/CU-type run in the next several years to keep admin's interest. If not, they don't think admin will support the costs, that they can be easily complacent w/ Richt-type seasons. Y

This is ridiculous. We have more money coming in now than ever before and more exposure than we have in decades. Why? Because we're winning, and it's direclty related to opening the purse strings. To suggest that in 5 years if we haven't won a national title the admin will be like "welp boys, we tried and it didn't work, let's blow it up" and scrap the whole thing and go back to 8-10 win seasons with no hardware is simply ludicrous. Our administration has previously put money and our savings account in FAR higher esteem that our trophy case. And much to their liking, the dough is rolling in directly as a result of our success. If we go back to the donnan days of winning 8 or 9 games, news flash: people aren't gonna donate as much. It's just an incredibly odd sentiment that unless we win a title or 2 in the next 5 years that we'll jsut throw our hands up and give up.

Your fanbase is already complaining about rising ticket prices.

Because they've been raised twice in the last 2 years with little to no warning whatsoever, and a MASSIVE swing at that. Anybody in their right mind would be pissed. Despite people's anger..the money is still coming in in droves.

Also complaints about continually delayed stadium renovations?

I'm not complaining that it's been a while. Our stadium structure is fine and frankly there hasn't really been much of a NEED for anything structural. It's long been known that our home team lockerrom though is abysmal compared to its peers, but that has always just been overlooked. In only 2 years kirby has fixed that.

I'm not arguing w/ you as I don't pretend to be in the know. Again, I'm just saying what they've said to each other when we're standing around having a beer.

I understand, I'm not saying anything about you or your friends one way or the other. I just think their personal opinions are pretty far out of left field.

When I think of Kirby Smart, I am reminded of the line from Patton when he looks out over the battlefield and says “Rommel, I read your book”. Kirby learned at Saban’s knee how to run a CFB program. Hell, he helped him write the book. It hasn’t taken long to show results.
Just wait when Kirby starts making enroads into Louisiana recruiting....just wait.
