I don't know about equal because it will be a long time before anyone matches what Alabama has done under Saban. UGA does look to be primed to challenge them as well as or better than any program has, though.

Bama is going 15-0 next year and will win 12 of the 15 games by 2 TDs or more. Alabama' s development of players is unmatched. Recruiting"5" stars is one thing actually getting 5 star production from them is totally different. Alabama doesn't have many 5 star bust and the majority of their 5 stars are instant impact, 3 and done, or eventual top 50 picks.

Lots of SEC teams have 5 star players that don't pan out or really never live up to that expectation.

No, Georgia is greatly improved, and had a great year with a mature team this year. They will be very good, but they did something that many SEC teams do each year -- lose to Auburn and Alabama. Next year, they will lose in BR and come down to earth.

It looks like a UGA//Bama battle for the next few years to come.

Is OSU Alabama's equal?

Alabama has 3 NCs since Urban got to OSU.

Urban and OSU are scary good, and Alabama is lapping them. Let Georgia get on their level first.

No clue as to when or if UGA matches bama's hold on the SEC but it is worth while noting & laughing about bama fans being pissed at Kirby for raiding Saban's recruiting class. According to Finebaum anyway.

It's just a question. No reason to get all flustered and bent out of shape over it. They looked to be about as close to the same level as you can get. It's not like Alabama steam rolled them in the championship game.

Had to announce my presence with authority.

I could easily see Georgia having teams on Alabama's level and then surpassing them as top dogs in the SEC.

Which is what you were asking, I think.

They ain't winning 5, though! Which I'm pretty sure you weren't asking about

I don't think Georgia has the culture to overtake Alabama. There is a championship culture ingrained in the football program at Alabama and Kirby will never be able to replicate that at a place like UGA.

Georgia will never be better at being "Alabama" than Alabama will. Georgia just needs to find their own wave and just ride out.

Imitation will get Kirby/UGA far, but until they develop their own identity they will be cheap copies that can't get over the hump.

Bama is a Bentley and UGA is that Chrysler 300 that all the black deacons drive.

Saban will retire well before Kirby does.

No I'm thinking more along the lines of a 5 year war type scenario as another poster had put it. I think for the next few years we are going to see complete toss up games between them in the seccg.

Right. Which is why they could lose against Georgia and be in the playoffs

Dabo will have room for his first full class at Clemson since he got things turned around.

He signed more five stars on a per signee basis than anyone this year. God only know what he can do with a full class.
