Notice the old school didn't win out for the alleva hire

Someone give me a quick summary of the old school/young school battle.

I'm not aware of the history.

I will never understand why a football school would hire a basketball guy and a baseball coach as AD.

Skip being hired as AD had as much deep thought go into it as the hire of Les as coach. Skip got hired because the board wouldn't approve an outsider like Barhardht to break up the good ol boy network so Stan was the happy medium for some fricking reason. Miles got hired because Skip got his feelings hurt by Del Rio.

man the D talent he inherited that was ripe for 2006 was INSANE

yeah, Florida had sick talent on D when UM got there.

Harvey and Moss especially. The Zooker could recruit some

It's impressive for sure. He's had a great run. I'm just saying, he fricks up a lot for a guy who is considered to be one of the 1-3 "perfect" head coaches.

Chavis is getting by on playing really really simple with great talent.

Simple was needed after last year.

Great talent is debatable. DL talent is really average and we're surviving (our d isn't dominant by any means) with a shitty DL in the best league in the country.

I'm anxious to see what he can do with a DL that can actually rush the passer.

I won't condemn brick on the DL just yet. The talent is about as bad as its been in a while. MSU fans seemed to think brick was a better coach than cooper.

i'm just saying pretending like we'd have the staff of the century if we added Weis to Les and Chavis is a joke. Chavis is a solid DC but his defenses will never again be anything special for those same reasons. Bend but don't break.

BULL

every single one of those dls were 4 or 5 star players. the fact that we suck at dl is absolutely unacceptable

not even attempting to get a pass rusher at LDE all year is a pretty bad sign for the future IMO. Pep Levingston wouldn't start at Tulane.

i respectfully disagree

al woods was a fricking 5 star recruit. drake nevis is a beast.

the problem is that through his entire career, nobody has taught alem how to play the run, at all
