Why wouldn't you show the front of the player like every other pro sports logo that uses players?

Aside from the NBA, what other pro sport uses a player?

If you want to get technical, the MLS logo shows the back of someone's shoe

On a related note, is that a left foot or right foot?

How do you know Jerry West isn't dribbling away from you?

Right foot. You can see where the arch is located.

Why would the NBA choose to show his arse as their logo?

The hands do make it look like a lefty

A hard nose drawn with sharp lines. Strong wrists positioned parallel to the shoulders. A round helmet pushed over a determined brow. A right-handed stance, though the logo's design allows it also to be viewed as left-handed, depending on how you look at it.

The silhouette was chosen specifically because of its ambiguity: the batter could be right- or left-handed and of any ethnic background

I have always looked at it as a righty, but if that's the case his hands are backwards.

how? you can only see one hand, and it could be from either arm....

I always viewed it as right, but it could be either.

Have you ever played baseball? If you are right-handed your right hand goes on top of your left. Where would the right hand be hiding? And he would be choking up like crazy.
