It can only be compared to the West and past versions of itself.
It’s pretty clearly way down. NYK are just a profoundly good team, at least in this moment.
This outcome should galvanize some of those eastern rivals this offseason into making some aggressive inroads .

The Knicks and everyone else. The Spurs, OKC and others steamroll any other team from the East.

This was not a GREAT Knicks team. Good enough to win when it counted most. That's all that matters really.

Boston and Indy will be healthy next year.

The ECF ended up being the finals this year for all intents and purposes. I cant imagine SAS would have beaten CLE either. Knicks were on an all time heater v Cle. Congrats to Jalen and the Knicks.

The East had its "other" best teams all battling it out for like the 6th seed. Atlanta was good after they made their trades. Charlotte is up and coming. Philly had injuries to Embiid (like always). Boston needs some roster changes but they will be good when Tatum is healthy. He isnt all time great, but he is really good in today's NBA. I dont think for a second that Cleveland was the 2nd best team in the east.
