He was fun to watch last night.

There is a reason NFL scouts and GMs prefer big guys who release it lightning quick over the top. Not saying he can’t succeed, but he’s far from a sure thing. Risky high 1st rounder

His biggest nfl knock will be his delivery. It’s got shades of Tebow. Very long and loopy which tends not to translate to the nfl

It’s an unorthodox delivery, but his arm strength is light years ahead of Tebow. Penix lead the country in throws outside the numbers this year. I actually think his arm is better than Caleb Williams. He’s not nearly as polished, but his arm is electric.

Penix has the best deep ball of any college QB I can remember watching

If he is valuable in the second, then why would you draft him in the first for the extra contract year.

I thought both first and second round picks got four-year contracts. And if drafting a QB in the first round is so much more valuable than getting him in the second, why did the Titans move up to the first pick of the second round to draft Will Levis last year instead of into the late first round to draft him? It wouldn't have made much sense if what you're saying is correct.

The 5th year option has been largely a bust.

Also, as for Penix, he has a loopy delivery and HORRIBLE footwork. Dude lives off throwing off his back foot. He needs to get a 2-year degree in Aaron Rodgers mechanics training, likely.

I think there is a path where he doesn't fix his issues and can still be a starter in the NFL, but he's going to be erratic with a highly variable ceiling in each game. He can be a game manager/moxie/leader type who tries to make 1-2 big throws every game. It probably won't last in the modern NFL, though.

Daniels is right there with him with the deep ball. Daniels and Penix are my two favorite QBs in this draft. I know Williams is super talented but he’s careless with the ball at times.

To your point, one of the reasons Daniels is moving up outside of everything else is has close to NFL ready throwing mechanics, delivery and decent
footwork.

Maybe that matters more than it should, but Penix will have to work put in some work on this to be a successful NFL Qb.

I don't see him slipping past Sean Payton and the Broncos mid first round. He wants accuracy first and foremost, Penix is the most accurate passer in the draft. The delivery can be fixed.
