crawford is probably the best defensive shortstop in baseball. but hes not nearly as valuable at the plate

I've said forever that he would move to third but after watching him play this year it doesn't make sense to rush that. The more years you can have his bat at SS the better. Especially if they can resign Justin Turner and have both of them in the lineup. Maybe he outgrows it in 4-5 years but I don't think it happens soon.

pretty much. hes shown he can handle short for now. hes going to stick there until that changes

Seager leads the NL in WAR (tied with Bryant), and he just turned 22. And he grades out especially well by defensive metrics, albeit in a fairly small sample. He is easily a top 5 valuable asset in baseball when you fold in his contract.
