True. Before long they will require NFL players be cheerleaders for a year to prepare for the league.

It's seems like the rules that has been enforced recently have favor the offense. When a penalty resulting in automatic first down, it will only allows drives to continue resulting in more points.
From profootballtalks.com, defensive holding and illegal contacts were quadrupled this year vs last year at one point this season.

Saints say hi
And wasn't pass interference way down as a result?
It used to be called way more and teams were taking advantage of it
They rely on turnovers. They're going to get beat by someone who can run the ball

As far as Green Bay, I don't think they're winning the Super Bowl trotting out that defense in the playoffs.

That Kerry Collins Giants team had the #1 offense in the nfl??

Technically not true, two teams have won the Superbowl with defenses ranked 28th or worse.
What 2 defenses?
I know the Saints were 25th in 2009, but generated a ton of turnovers
Edit: The Giants were 27th in 2011, but held their opponents to 2, 20, 17 (OT), and 17 in the playoffs.

DK if the stats back it up or not, but it seems like offenses are getting better and better at scoring points. This goes for both the NFL and college.
I could be way off, but it just feels like offenses are getting better and better and defensive ability can't keep up.
Meh. I feel the Air Raid and spread option offenses are getting worse every year since 2011. I have no data to back this up, but it's just from observation.
The only exception I see is Baylor.

Only a handful of teams have quarterbacks they can rely on to take them down the field multiple times a game. The rest of the teams rely on defense and special teams to give their average and bad QBs a chance.
