This league goes well beyond PPR. On top of standard scoring and PPR, you also get:

1 - 1st down caught
1 - 1st down thrown
1 - 1st down ran
1 - 40 yard run
1 - 40 yard thrown
1 - 40 yard caught

I think OBJ is a tier or 2 below him.

Brown has been a model of consistency and he gets better every year since he came into the league.

I can agree with that based on consistency year to year.

I do think that some people don't understand just how good Beckham was last year though. One of the best rookie WR years ever even with the shortened season.

His averages were just incredible for any player.

That's why I'm curious as to how ODB will do this year.

A lot of WRs breakout one year then fade away. See Mike Wallace, Josh Gordon, Eric Decker, etc..

Not saying ODB will be terrible this year, but let's pump the breaks just a bit on him.

I don't think you can include Josh Gordon in that list.

ODB isn't a one trick pony like Mike Wallace is, and blows away Decker athletically.

On paper, he's blazing fast receiver, with elite hands, elite leaping ability, and pretty great route running for his age (or anyone's age for that matter). Paper only takes you so far though when the margin between elite, great, and average is razor thin

What separates ODB is his quickness. He accelerates out of the breaks perfectly on his routes. 3.94 shuttle time and 10.93 60 yd shuttle were positional bests at the combine

Let's all take a minute and remember that around this time last year one of the biggest threads on this board was titled

"Is Jimmy Graham a top 5 receiver in the league?"

That's some pretty bad examples. Both Decker and Wallace had big years after their breakout year. Gordon is a rare case because of his off the field issues.

Michael Clayton would have been a better example. But Clayton was no where near the athlete ODB is.

2 years ago. Last year Saints fans were not kind to Jimmy

At that point and the first half of the season he was pretty dominant. Injuries slowed him down. I think he was leading the NFL in yards until he got hurt and that was following great 2011 and 2012 seasons

Side note, he's only 5'10" 185. He ran a low of 4.48 and high of 4.59 40 at the combine. Can we get over the notion that a WR has to be 6'2"+ and 4.4 to warrant a college scholarship in the SEC?

I mean, you don't "have" to be a huge guy but it's definitely a big advantage to have receivers with size

He's not a "sexy" pick because nothing really stands out with him. He's not tall, extremely fast or anything else but he gets the job done. I've been drafting him the last 3-4 years when he was ranked in the 30's and 40's and I've been making a killing. This is the first year I was unable to draft him in any of 3 leagues. He's more consistent than any other player, he is pretty much 110 yards and 1 td a game. Calvin Johnson can get you 200 and 3td's every now and then but consistency wins.

No it's Andre Johnson (keep in mind this is the first year in his career where he will have a good QB throwing to him). Then Calvin Johnson. Then Antonio Brown. Then Julio, Dez, OBJ, and Roddy.
