And what in the hell is a "meaningless" free throw? How can that even exist?

same as a meaningless rebound i guess. I was just going with the narrative

Per game is assumed.

The scoring title goes to the best per game average. Not the most points.

then do the math. Lebron would still have a higher ppg

If it is, it is by a count hair. Which doesn’t prove much of anything for your side.

Harden still leads the league in scoring if you take away every players free throws.

proves this is false. Just trying to keep the facts straight in here, and not have fake news spread.

With that i am going to bed. I will follow uo tomo.

Who are these 8 players that have actually played significantly this season?

Clearly you know since you had to have research their shooting to have drawn strong conclusions about their shooting.
quote:

Do you even eFG% or TS%?
So you make a stupid point about three point shooting, but when the point is refuted and the stupidity of it further highlighted by using your won team, you switch to a suggest metric?

No wonder you parrot boom talking points.
quote:

Rodney Hood has shot 31.8% from 3 since joining the Cavs (Shot 38% on Jazz) and George Hill has shot 33% since joining the Cavs (Shot 45% on Kings). So much for the LeBron 3pt effect.
And Clarkson's shooting has improved substantially, but I used season average because it's more reliable when discussing them as shooters with such a small sample size with the Cavs. But if we're making a small sample size argument, after tonight, Hill is shooting 42.4% over the last 10 games from three.

And I almost added their percentages with the Cavs v. the overall season. And I was half hoping that you would point out that Hood's and Hill's had dropped, to show that you would choose an less reliable metric to support your argument. But you didn't just do that, you ignored the example of that same metric that didn't support your argument. But like a true hack, you couldn't just top with the cherry picked stats. Nope you had to go way further and somehow use those stats as refuting a reputation LeBron has garnered in his 15 years, ignoring not only thousands of games and focusing on just a 16 game sample for one player and a 13 game sample for another, but also ignoring that they're shared floor time is even less than that.

I must say I'm impressed. You're still a little too much like your mentor, but you've shown that your less bombastic personality, you may also be able to discretely outdo his ridiculousness.

If you take points - free throw attempts I get a tie. By looking at makes only you are punishing James for being a better ft shooter.

That is utterly embarrassing for a franchise player

What about his on/off splits when Lebron is the Lebron that we're used to? You should know that you gotta take that into account, Boom.

If you really wanna talk about embarrassing performance for a franchise player, there is one player and performance that comes to everyone's mind. I don't need to name it aloud, because everyone knows what it is.

Real convenient that he gets done with them on a night when they get the best win of the season.

I guarantee he won’t be here posting after the finals games if it is Houston - Cleveland bc that’s a 5 game series in Houston’s favour.

He also won't be here posting after a Nets-Mavs finals. Because neither is happening. Harden showed his true colors already, he's never gonna get a ring or even goes to the finals unless he can go back to being the third option for a team.

MVP - best season
Best player - you gotta look at more than the current season

So Karl Malone had the best season in 1997 over Michael Jordan that year?
Westbrook's 2017 season was better than Harden's and LeGOAT's despite the fact his team only won 47 games and he was less efficient shooting than both?
So Magic Johnson's 1987 season was better than Bird's despite that Bird was 50-40-90 that season?
Charles Barkley's 1993 season was better than MJ's?

I mean who thinks like this?

Well I didn't even post when LeBron had the game winner v. Minnesota. But I obviously post more in the postseason but I think I even post more in the of season.

To be honest though, I haven't avoided the discussions because of the Cavs as much as I've avoided them because I find myself agreeing with you that Harden is the MVP, but then when you add your typically boomisms, it creates an uncomfortable cognitive dissonance because I can't disagree with the main point of your argument.

The only reason I posted tonight was because your understudy Tigger, was trying to branch out in an argument on his own, but he hasn't mastered your artful use of stats to make a somewhat legitimate point within a far more ridiculous point about some abstract concept.

He improved once I threw in a couple facts, so I think your tutelage is showing a bit.

Uh... everyone. the voters. Otherwise Lebron would win every year. The award doesn’t go to the best player in the league. It goes to the player with the best season according to the voters. Narrative plays a bigger role than any cherry picked stat you can find.

Well humbly pretty much no one here has mastered my combo of:

Knowing the game
Knowing the numbers and the context behind them

Some know the game but don’t know the numbers.

Some like you know the numbers but don’t know the game enough to apply context.
