Indy Racing League is so much better than F1.

Modern F1 has drifted away from what made it visceral, dangerous, and mechanically pure. And honestly, when you put it next to IndyCar, the contrast is brutal. IndyCar still feels like racing; F1 often feels like a tech demo with a parade in Monaco.
I’ve watched F1 and IndyCar for a long time, and honestly F1 has gone to absolute shite. The engines, the battery gimmicks, the aero nonsense — it’s a shell of what it used to be. And Monaco today is the perfect example of how far the sport has fallen. I’m just counting down the hours until the Bombardier IndyCar race tonight so I can watch actual racing instead of this Monaco parade.

The last time I enjoyed F1 was the Schumacher days. To be fair IndyCar had some dark days--The Split. Today's IndyCar is much more watchable for me than F1.

IndyCar is real racing. You get actual engines, real strategy, different types of tracks, and a field so tight that anyone can win on any given weekend. It’s pure competition — not a parade, not a tech experiment, not a battery-management contest. Just hard racing the way it’s supposed to be.

Agree. "F1 Racing" is an oxymoron now. There's more racing in the last 50 laps at Talladega or Indy than an entire season of F1.

It’s not Monaco that keeps your star drivers from finishing a race — it’s the ridiculous battery-dependent power units and the over-engineered regulations the FIA forced into the sport. Let’s be honest: they screwed up the cars. These hybrids are so fragile and overregulated that a simple street circuit exposes every flaw. Meanwhile, IndyCar still gives us real engines, real racing, and real competition. I’m just counting down to the Bombardier Indy race tonight so I can watch an actual race instead of this FIA-created mess.

All that said, I prefer IMSA to both.
Multiclass racing is exciting. Plus many of the cars are relatable to ones you might see on the street.
If you want entertainment then catch the Carrera Cup, Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Mazda MX-5 Cup racing that travels with Indy and IMSA. All are very fun to watch.

IMSA MX-5 series is the most fun racing series out there. Go and watch the road Atlanta or Daytona races to try and forget about the turd that is Monaco

IndyCar has been my favorite series for many years.
Never got into F1. Used to tune in now and then, but it would just be follow the leader and boring.

Indy has a 15 year old chassis and is moving towards an F1 engine next year.
Will go over well on a BFE track with Cletus.
Everyone bitching that this F1 formula is terrible has no idea that Indy has voted to do the exact same thing.

People acting like IndyCar is “doing the same thing as F1” are missing the entire point. Yes, IndyCar is updating the chassis and adding hybrid assist — but that doesn’t magically turn it into F1. IndyCar’s hybrid is a push-to-pass supplement, not a fragile, over-engineered, penalty-ridden science project. The core stays the same: big engines, tight field, real racing.
And calling it a “15-year-old chassis” ignores the fact that IndyCar has intentionally kept a stable platform so the racing stays close. That’s why 20 drivers can win on any given weekend. F1 hasn’t had that in decades.
As for “Cletus on a BFE track,” IndyCar runs ovals, street circuits, and road courses — the most diverse schedule in top-tier motorsport. Meanwhile F1 can’t even race properly at Monaco anymore because the cars are too bloated and too dependent on battery deployment.

No, I agree. Indy has hampered speed and development to keep racing close. Indy isn’t about technical development or beating others on engineering.

F1 is the one where the car is 90% of the performance and the driver is just the final variable. That’s why you see the same two or three teams dominate for a decade at a time. It’s engineering supremacy, not pure racing.
