Of course it has. But it seems like an arbitrary distinction so say its ok for a baseball player to not only be drafted before college, but while in college, then continue to play college baseball, but not so for a basketball player who likewise did not play US professional basketball.

Predictably, the counterargument would be "well he played professional basketball overseas!" That argument might be relevant if the NCAA had not let international professional basketball players play college basketball for DECADES, or the fact they have allowed players who played in the G-league (which is a US pro league) to play college basketball.

The NCAA is nothing if not arbitrary and hypocritical. Particularly the continued BS that football and basketball are just "amateur sports" while happily casing the $1,000,000,000 check CBS/Turner pays them each year to broadcast the NCAA Tournament.
